Stuck In My Head: It's Gonna Be Me...

So if you follow me on Instagram, you saw that I posted a picture of the monthly calendar that I draw for Justin and in the blank space before May 1st, I drew a cartoony Justin Timberlake and wrote "It's gonna be May!" And so now I obviously have "It's Gonna Be Me" by N'Sync stuck in my head. Like hardcore.

For those of you that don't follow me on Instagram, here is the picture I was talking about...

Yes, I know. Not my best drawing and I don't know why I had trouble with it but whatever.

Cooking & Watching A Movie | The Boy Next Door...

If you follow me on Instagram you know that about a week or so ago I got an advance copy of the Jennifer Lopez movie The Boy Next Door (2015), which is actually coming out tomorrow April 28th on DVD/Blu-Ray, and last night I finally got a chance to watch it as I was making dinner -- Thank you Lisa for reminding me that I have a DVD player in my kitchen.

And I must say I really enjoyed this movie and that being said, going into it I didn't think I would. So I was completely surprised how engrossed I was with it. I actually took my sweet time prepping all of the ingredients so I could stand in front of the television to watch it. I unfortunately had to stop in the middle because I finished cooking, but as soon as we were done eating I went right back into our kitchen and was standing up, leaning on the counter watching the rest of it. And when I was done I walked into the living room to Justin, who was watching the Subway Series, and I went on and on about how I ended up liking it.
For those of you that don't know what the movie is about, here is the official synopsis...
Jennifer Lopez (Maid in Manhattan, Out of Sight, Monster-in-Law, The Wedding Planner) stars as Claire Peterson, a high school literature teacher struggling to get back in the dating game after separating from her cheating husband (John Corbett, TV's Parenthood and United States of Tara). When handsome and charismatic 19-year-old Noah (Ryan Guzman, Step Up series, TV's Pretty Little Liars) moves in next door, Claire has a moment of weakness that leads to an extremely intense and intimate night together. Noah's attraction quickly turns into a dangerous, violent obsession, forcing Claire to her limits as she protects her world from being torn apart.

Rated: R       Genre: Thriller       Run Time: 93 Minutes
But yeah, it was good! I'd totally recommend watching it. If you do, lemme know!

And for those wondering, I made lemon ricotta raviolis in a lemon sage parmesan cream sauce with sauteed onions, garlic, burnt broccoli, mushrooms and dollops of ricotta -- Justin's had prosciutto.
FYI - It was really yummy and I highly recommend trying Trader Joe's lemon ricotta raviolis.

Alana & Allie's Wedding | My First Gay Wedding...

As I mentioned in my previous post, my friends Alana and Allie got married this past weekend and thus I got to attend my first gay wedding on Saturday (Yay!) and it was just so beautiful. Here is how the day played out...

Since four of us were getting ready at my apartment, I woke up at 7:30am to get the ball rolling in the wedding guest beautification project (Especially since I had to do Erin's hair and makeup on top of my own). As Erin, Chas and I got ready Justin counted down the time until we had to leave and after we finished getting all gussied up, the four of us split into two cars (Justin had somewhere to be the next day and he didn't want me to have to take time out from hanging out with my friends to drive him back to our apartment, which was super awesome of him) and drove to the hotel (Chas and I had an epic car dance party during this time) where we were catching a car to the wedding with a bunch of our friends.

The cars (Yes, for some reason it ended up being more than one car) took forever and were kind of shady (Toni's twelve-year-old daughter said the mini van that I ended up getting into was "The kind of van you get raped and killed in..." -- Thanks B) but they got us where we had to be.

Once we got to the venue, which was this super swanky steak and sushi restaurant here on Long Island, we jumped into some seats near some friends that were already there because the wedding was starting five minute after we arrived and watched their beautiful ceremony (They requested that no one take pictures during the ceremony and "be present" throughout the course of it, so that's why there is a lack of pictures from it. I actually had to steal this photos from Alana's Instagram).
Then came their sweet cocktail hour. Where they had signature drinks, a ton of sushi, lobster bisque shooters, mini crab cake balls and a bunch of other wonderfully yummy appetizers, that we all enjoyed as we BSed and took stupid pictures with one another.

Once the cocktail hour was over we were ushered into the main dining room for one awesome reception full of dancing (Which I did with my GoPro in my hand), laughing, more awesome food and even a drag queen dressed as Cher. It was honestly one of the best weddings I have ever been to.
After the wedding our shady driver came back to get us and drop us back off at the hotel where we changed out of our wedding attire and threw on bathing suits for a pool party. We swam and drank for hours before going out to the bar area and hanging out with all of the other wedding guests.

Eventually everyone got sleepy because it really was a long day and we went to our rooms to discover that the wedding favor that we thought were cupcakes were actually mini pies. Then we went on a hunt to find the brides to see if they had anymore pie and ate lots of pie before going to bed.

It was honestly such a great wedding. Everything was beautiful and I am so happy that I was able to be there for Alana and Allie's special day. And in terms of it being a gay wedding, it was no different than any other wedding I've ever attended and Justin agrees. It was two people who love each other committing themselves to one another in front of all of their family and friends (It was a Jewish ceremony for anyone wondering), just with the addition of a drag queen at the reception.

Adventures In NYC With Chastity...

I had a whirldwind of a weekend, which I'm going to tell you all about throughout the course of the week, and it all started with an adventure in New York City on Friday with Chas who was in New York to attend our friends' Alana & Allie's wedding...

So I woke up relatively early for me on a day off to get ready and take the forty-five minute LIRR ride into New York City. And once I was in Manhattan I walked from Penn Station (Where I was followed for a block and a half by one of those dudes who work for those bus tours of NYC because he found the need to hit on me for that long) to the Pod Hotel on 39th Street where Chas spent the night. And that is when our adventure began...
We started off our morning by heading to Rockefeller Center to meet up with Day, who works in the area, for a mid-morning snack from Magnolia Bakery. We sat in the plaza, ate our various goodies and talked about the going ons of the weekend (i.e. - Alana & H's wedding, after parties, etc) until Day's break was over.
After chillin' with Day, Chas called her friend Ryan who works for one of the television networks out of 30 Rock to see if we could say hi to him. He happened to be coming up on his lunch break and was able to get us both passes into the building, so we hung out with him in the commissary as he ate his lunch hoping to spot maybe an SNL cast member or someone from Jimmy Fallon (Where Chas actually interned in 2009) but unfortunately both shows were off for the week so no such luck.

When he was done eating he took us down to where SNL is filmed and then up to the floor where the network he works for, as well as another, had their offices. He showed us around and a little bit of what he was working on before it was time to say goodbye.
Since one of our missions for the day was to hit up video game stores we headed to the Nintendo World Store, which is practically around the block from where we were, to check it out. It was okay. The coolest thing I thought they had was this display on the second floor with all of their handheld devices from the very beginning to now.

When we were done there we decided it was time to jump on the subway and head to the East Village to get our thrifting/vintage shopping on -- Which was something we love doing when we are together.
We hit up No Relations, Mr. Throwback, Ladies and Gentlemen, Tokio7, Buffalo Exchange, as well as a few more that I don't remember the names of because we just popped in them for a minute or two.

On the way into one of them we met these two straight twenty-one year old guys who were talking to each other about manicures and stopped us to ask us about it. Then proceeded to ask us what we thought about various vintage items they were thinking about buying. I'm not going to lie, they were super entertaining.
In the middle of thrift shopping we decided to hit up Momofuku Milk Bar and see what all the hype was behind their famous cereal milk. So I got their original cereal milk and a cornflake chocolate chip marshmallow cookie, while Chas got cereal milk soft serve with crunch. It was all just okay but now we know.

After hitting up Momofuku and the last of the vintage/thrift stores on Chas' list we headed over to Video Games New York, which is an independent video game store "known for their unique collection of video game systems and games, American and imports" because we were on the hunt for some random old school video games. Unfortunately they didn't have the game I wanted but Chas ended up walking out with an import Gundum game.
Once we were done getting our geek on we took a cab to Bosie Tea Parlor and had ourselves an awesome little tea party that included a sighting of Evan Michelson from the show Oddities (2010-Present).
After we had our fill of tea we decided we should head back to Long Island. So we caught the LIRR, gossiped the whole ride and went back to my apartment. We played video games with Justin, had pizza, BSed some more before going to bed because we all had to wake up early-ish to get ready for Alana and Allie's wedding.

I cannot tell you how much fun I had with Chas. We always have a great time when she comes to visit and it's like she never left every time we see each other. I'm so happy I took the day off to hang out with her and I'm so sad that she's gone back to Cali.

Mets Opening Day 2015...

On Monday Justin and I went on our annual outing to Citi Field for the Mets home opener and here are some random picture I took mostly during the opening ceremony because apparently I forgot to take more pictures (It's honestly because I was Snapchatting while watching the game. I wish Justin would let me share that video with you guys because it's pretty funny)...

Despite the lack of pictures during the actual game, it was good. They won thankfully. Next time I promise to take more pictures or at least make a Snapchat video I can share with all of you.
