Random Friday In New York City

Last week when I was hanging out with Toni at Maddie's school concert I found out that Day was trying to get her to take Friday off so that they could have a spa day. Well, I texted Day and informed her that I actually had off on Friday and if that if the events that she was trying to plan weren't strictly twin plans that I was down for whatever. She told me they weren't solely twin plans (That's because Toni mentioned to Jamie that they were going out and she wanted to go too) and was excited for us to have random Friday plans. So she threw out a couple of ideas and names of spas, and we saw that one of the spas she had mentioned had a Groupon. So we had her get four of them and planned on meeting up with her for 11:00am Friday morning. Which is exactly what Toni, Jamie and I did (With a few hiccups of course, but isn't that how it always is?).

Once we finally made it to Premier 57 we just spent hours relaxing in the various hot tubs they have, dancing around a pole of ice in the cold sauna room, got our zen on in the colored sauna room, chilled in the Infrared Zone, etc.

After we were done pampering ourselves at the spa we headed over to Bloom's Tavern to grab some lunch because all we did at the spa was drink.

When we were finished eating we decided to slow roll (Very slow roll) our way back towards Penn Station, stopping at various bars on the way -- Crimson & Rye, The Perfect Pint, etc.

Eventually we ended up at Habanero Blues because we were sucked in by a sign outside that said arcade (Day and I love a good bar with an arcade). So we hung out there for a while. We drank, ate, played foosball (Losers had to take shots) and darts. At some point Day mentioned soup dumplings to the group and wanted to go on a mission to find some since Toni had never had them before, but once Toni and Jamie realized that it was in the opposite direction of Penn Station they protested and we decided it was time to go home (It was already past 8:00pm and we'd been out since 9:00am).

So we said goodbye to Day (Who ended up going on a solo soup dumpling mission) and the three of us head towards Penn to catch the LIRR.

While we were on the train Toni and I decided to text Bianca to see if she would pick us up from the station and go to Applebee's for half off appetizers. Thankfully she is a teenager so the answer to half off apps is always yes. So she picked us up with her boyfriend and the four of us went for some late night snacks before calling it quits.

Over all it was a great day. I would definitely go back to Premier 57 and I always love day drinking with my friends.

How did you spend Friday?
