From The Cat-Alog | Meet Zuulie

Ever since Justin and I got our house we've been talking about getting another cat to be friends with Laveau and about three weeks ago we got serious about it.

After days of searching, looking into different rescues, filling out adoption applications, having phone interviews (It was a pain this time around because of COVID restrictions at all the rescues) and meeting cats we didn't vibe with, we met an almost three month old black and white domestic short hair at Last Hope Rescue who I let Justin name Zuulie (Because as you may or may not know, he is a huge Ghostbusters fan)

We've had her for almost two weeks at this point and we absolutely love her. I can't say the same for Laveau, she is very apprehensive about her but Zuulie desperately wants to be her friend.

If you like cats you can follow Zuulie on Instagram at @OnlyZuulie. And if you aren't already, you can follow Laveau at @LaveauCat.

From The Cat-Alog | Laveau's Favorite Toys

Recently I was on the Ologies Facebook group and one of the members asked what kind of toys other member's cats liked. Since I found the tread interesting and helpful, I thought that I'd throw together my own list on here of Laveau's favorite toys and where you can find them.

Here are some toys that she absolutely doesn't care about and I've wasted my money on...
So, are there any toys that your cats absolutely love? I'm always on the lookout for new toys for Laveau, so I'd love to hear your recommendations. Also, are there any toy they hated and you think I should know about? Lemme know!

From The Cat-Alog | Meet Laveau

As you may or may not know, I love cats but have been cat-less since my childhood cat died when I was in my early twenties. And over the years I've spent plenty of time harassing my parents (when I still lived at home) and Justin (since we started living together) to let me get a new cat. Finally after almost ten years of being a cat-less cat lady, Justin broke and told me that I could get a cat.

So after about a month of planning and collecting essentials for my new cat, Justin and I went to check out a number of rescues here on Long Island to see if we could find ourselves the puurrfect little kitten. And after hours of searching we found a little gray female tabby that we both vibed with at Hopkins Cat Rescue whom we named Laveau.

We've only had her for a few days but I am absolutely in love (I think Justin is too). She is so sweet and mushy. She is literally everything I've always wanted in a cat.
