Engagement Ringless...

I'm having a first world problem right now. So, yesterday Justin and I drove up to White Plains to go to the jewelery store that he bought my engagement ring from because we ordered the matching wedding band from them and the company that make the rings did the professional thing and sent sapphire samples down to the jewelery store so that the sapphires in my wedding band could match the sapphires in my engagement ring as close as possible (Holy run on sentence Batman).

This was all awesome and great, but none of the sapphires matched. For some reason I had gotten some particularly dark sapphires in my ring (Like they are so dark people think that my ring is white and black diamonds in certain lighting) and none of the sapphires matched. The owner of the store tried to insist that I get a certain shade that they had there but I could see the difference and both Justin and I knew that I'd have mini OCD fits over the sapphires not matching for the rest of my life if I listen to the jewelery store lady. So I had to give my engagement ring to the jewelery store to send back to the jewelers so they could properly match the sapphires.

So I am ringless for the next five weeks and I am so sad. I actually had to go find a ring in my jewelery box when I got home to wear on my ring finger so I don't try to touch my ring and bug out because its not there. I know I only got the ring in May but I am seriously distraught and I know it's a stupid thing to be upset about. I mean, I know in the long run I'll be happy because I'll be wearing these rings forever and since they took the ring I told them to resize it because it was half a size too big, so silver lining? I'm being ridiculous, I know but I had to get it out.

If My Blog Was An Outfit...

Earlier I was skimming through Adventures in Mediocrity and I saw that Meghan had done a post about a week or so ago called "If My Blog Was An Outfit" (Which originated at Hairspray and High Heels as a linkup) and I just thought it was an amazing idea.

So, this is what I think my blog would look like if it was an outfit with accessories...
This outfit sums up my life (I legit live in my boyfriend jeans when I'm not working and it's nice enough out to wear them), which is why I think it is what my blog would look like in terms of clothing, makeup and accessories.

All of the information on these pieces are up on my Polyvore if you're interested in any of them.

Sneakpeeq Holiday Glam Girl Mystery Box...

As you all might have noticed by now I'm a sucker for a subscription and/or theme box. So I couldn't help myself and I had to order myself a Sneakpeeq Mystery Box. I specifically ordered myself the Holiday Glam Girl box (Once I opened this box I ordered myself the Girl Who's Got It All box also).
If you're unfamiliar with Sneakpeeq it's a site that features various products at a discount (You can earn badges and get a greater discount most of the time). Sneakpeeq put together three different mystery boxes containing a mixture of five plus products that have been featured on the site at some point. The boxes you can choose from are as follows; Holiday Glam Girl, Nature Girl and Girl Who's Got It All* (The Nature Girl box is unfortunately sold out), they are $29.00 each and boast having at least $60.00 worth of products in each box, with the possibility of having up to $500 worth of bonuses.

On to my particular box...

• Glam Mat • Lash Card • Chella Lash Full-Fillment Eyelash Treatment •
• Lord & Barry Kit-Co QuickChic Lip & Eye Pencils • UNO Magnetic Jewelry •

CHELLA LASH FULL-FILLMENT EYELASH TREATMENT ($90.00)
Chella has formulated the perfect prostaglandin-free Eyelash Treatment
to help restore the natural beauty of your lashes, while nourishing, conditioning,
and “batting” away dry, brittle and non-existent lashes.

This product was the highlight of the box for me. Honestly I've never heard of this particular brand but I've been curious about eyelash treatments for a while now (Not the I necessarily think I need one), so to get a full size of one was awesome especially since it's worth $90.00 and I paid $29.00 for the whole box it came in. I'll definitely be trying this product out and I will very much let you guys know if it does what it claims to.

LASH CARD ($6.99)
This was an eh product for me because I'm pretty sure I've gotten one to try in a Birchbox or Glam Bag at some point (I have to check my sample box). I mean the product seems like a good enough idea but I'll never remember to use it. This is totally going to be something I give to someone.

GLAM MAT ($19.95)
I use hot styling tools and I've burnt various surfaces with my flat iron in the past, so I will definitely use this product. The only thing I don't like about this product is that I got it in purple and not hot pink or black.

UNO MAGNETIC JEWELRY ($19.99)
This one was a little weird and it was purple. I only played with it briefly, but I'm gonna mess around with it a little more and see if I can rock a magnetic piece of "jewelry" or not.

LORD & BERRY KIT-CO QUICK CHIC MINI PENCIL BOX (€5.00)*
This mini pencil kit came with four eyeliners and four lipliners. I love me some eyeliner (I can live without lipliner) so I was happy to see this kit included because I love trying new ones. The colors were nice, I don't understand why it came with two shades of black instead of some other color but whatever.

Once I swatched them I wasn't so happy anymore. They didn't glide on and I really had to draw the lines on the back of my hand. I'm hoping if I put a lighter to these bad boys they'll work better. We shall see...

* Saw the same product for $21.50 on some site

TOTAL VALUE: $158.43

Over all, the box was worth the $29.00 gamble. The only thing I'm sad about is not getting a My Other Bag tote like some of the other people got because I would have loved rocking one, but whatever.

If you ordered a box or plan on snatching one up before they sell out lemme know!

NOTE: After I posted this I saw that the Girl Who's Got It All box sold out.

Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend...

So today I attended my first jewelry party. One of my friends hosted a "SeƱorita & Margaritas" themed Lia Sophia party at her house and invited me to come. Since I love my friend, booze and jewelry I thought it would be a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon, and it was.

The woman doing the party was good friends with my friend, so it was relaxed and she wasn't pushy like the lady that did Nicole's Tupperware party forever ago. Because of all of this I ended up buying a few pieces because I thought they were cute and I felt bad.
  1. Zenith Bracelet ($38.00)
  2. Key Charm ($20.00)
  3. Birthday Party Earrings ($19.00)
  4. Attached Bracelet ($48.00)
Honestly before being invited I had never heard of Lia Sophia Jewelry. I must say, there are some very nice pieces but some of it was a bit too expensive for my blood (I buy 90% of my jewelry from Forever 21), thankfully I won a 10% discount by playing one of the games and there was a 50% off sale for bracelets.

Once I get the pieces in I'll model them off for you guys and tell you what I really think of them.
