I haven't even been at work an hour (As the post title states) and I cannot even explain to you how annoyed I already am. It all started the minute I parked... As soon as I pull into a parking space I open my door, go to grab my purse and then someone starts beeping at me because they want to park in the spot next to me. This just pissed me off beyond belief because I would never ever do that, so I took my sweet time getting out of my car, looked at them and yelled "You need to wait..." then I started crossing the street. As I was doing so they ended up crashing their car into the raised curb. I just turned around, laughed, said "That is what you get for beeping at me!" and walked into the library.
Not five minutes after that the aggravation continues inside. One of my coworkers starts telling that our Department Head was bitching because I had made plans ahead of time to see my cousin who was in from California this weekend and couldn't cover "Amy's" Saturday shift because she unexpectedly slipped, sprained her back and is going to be out for the next week. This just sent me over the edge. I started screaming in the office (Don't worry there were no patrons in the building). I swear if she has the audacity to come up to me and say something I'm going to flip on her. She and I aren't the only librarians in the department, there are two other not counting "Amy" who she could ask but she won't -- Apparently for some reason unbeknownst to me "Julia" cannot be left alone, so she couldn't have covered the day.
I try to calm down because I heard the elevator beep from outside the room and go sit at the reference desk. Three minutes later I get a phone call from a frantic teacher who launches into a story about how she has been a teacher forever bouncing from grade to grade and how she is working with another teacher and needs to do a joint lesson on blah, blah, blah, blah, blah... She proceeds to ask me to pull books on various topics, she has no titles or anything. I resisted the urge to tell her that she needs to do her own work and just said okay.
On top of all of the things that have happened in the past hour there is a concert going on in the auditorium and it SUCKS.
Lets hope the next three hours go better.
Yowzers. Don't you love days like that? If it's any consolation, my whole weekend sucked.
ReplyDeleteAww I'm sorry to hear that your weekend sucked. I hope the beginning of this week has been better.
