Squad Fishing Trip

Last weekend a bunch of us went fishing on one of the boats from the Laura Lee Fleet out of Captree State Park here on Long Island. Here are some of the photos I took in Huji Cam...

I was planning on taking way more photos (Especially of the squad) than I did but the trip was kind of a cluster fuck. Toni and Jamie both got sick while on the boat (We might have gone out drinking the night before, which in hindsight was a horrible idea). Chris, who is the reason we threw this shindig together, got scare of being on the boat and spent almost the entire trip in the cabin with Toni. So because of those reasons and actually fishing while on the boat, taking photos fell by the wayside.

But yeah, it was an interesting trip. I don't know if we'll ever go on another squad fishing trip but I think I'm okay with that.

Would you attempt to orchestrate a trip like this with your friend? Lemme know!

Family Fishing Trip

Yesterday myself, Justin, my sister and Erik went on a little family fishing excursion. Justin had gotten a Groupon for a fishing trip with the Northstar Fishing Fleet out of Captree State Park here on Long Island for four people about a month ago, so we decided to use it this weekend because the weather was supposed to be nice.

We wanted to go on the night fishing trip but it was completely booked, so we settled on the afternoon trip. Which ended up being perfect because it was such a beautiful day to be out on the water.

So we boarded the boat a little before the sailing time of 2:00pm and posted up in the front of the boat because that's where the guys wanted to be. Justin had brought two of his own fishing rods for us to use but decided on using the ones on board like Kristina and Erik (I believe it was a $5.00 per rod fee when you purchase the Groupon but Erik had worked on the fleet many many moons ago, so they gave them a discount).

We set out on time and hit up a handful of spots throughout the course of our time on the boat. Unfortunately despite catching five fish collectively (Kristina caught three, Erik and Justin both caught one and I of course caught nothing), none of them were keepers and we left the boat empty handed.

Even though we didn't catch anything, we had a great time. The crew was super friendly and helpful.

If you're on Long Island and you enjoy being out on the water, I'd highly recommend snatching up this Groupon while it's still around because was totally worth the $75.00 for the four of us to hang out on a boat for the afternoon.
