Seven Questions...

What happens at New York Comic Con (2009) goes up on the interwebz.

Yes, I wear that wig a lot so you'll probably see it in a bunch more photos.

1. You are stuck somewhere you really don't want to be, do you - Walk home, call a friend, or stick it out?
If I could walk home I'd totally do that. If I couldn't walk I'd call a friend and bitch about being there until they picked me up.

2. Do you like to PLAY sports?
I'm fat. Do I look like I like to play sports?

3. Everyone has that one "different" song that they secretly love - What's yours?
I love the song "Rasputin (Club Mix)" by Boney M. I blame Just Dance 2 because it has an amazing dance to the song that my sister and Phil rock.

4. What is one thing you feel you are really good at?
I'm really good with arts and crafts, but I don't get to do it for pleasure as much as I would like. I end up doing a lot of random arts and crafts at work.

5. A dog is running in your direction and barking loudly - What do you do?
Get the hell away from it. I'm not messing with some crazy barking dog.

6. Star gazing or cloud watching?
Cloud watching. I have a crazy vivid chaotic way of thinking, so I see weird crap in clouds.

7. What time of the day do you feel the most productive?
9:00pm and later. I'm totally a night person and I get so much stuff done once it starts getting late.

Overdue Archives: New York Comic Con 2009...

Because I'm super excited for New York Comic Con (NYCC) next week I thought I should revisit my NYCC 2009 experience.

I attended New York Comic Con 2009 on February 6th at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. I was sent along with two of my coworkers after I submitted a fifty page proposal to our Director -- The proposal included a lengthy letter and lots of documentation showing why librarians should attend a comic book convention.

At NYCC we attended several professional panels about purchasing comics/manga/graphic novels for libraries, the best of the three for young adults and about classics that every library should own. After the panels we went straight for the swag, and oh did we end up with tons of stuff -- We even ended up with stuff that we shouldn't have gotten for free but since vendors found out that we were librarians we got extras. We met authors, artists, publishers, etc. We got sneak peaks at tons of forthcoming materials. It was awesome. Unfortunately I only got to go one day even though I had a three day pass because I had to work the Saturday and Justin had pneumonia.

I'm so excited for the Con this year. I cannot wait for next Friday!
