Erin, another one of our friends and I just went to see The Help (2011). I haven't read the book so I can't give you any kind of comparison (Erin did, so I'll have to ask her how it stood up to the book and get back to you), but I really enjoyed the movie for what it was. It was honestly one of the best movies that I've seen in the theater in a while and I'd have no problem recommending it to other people to see.
On a side note, as we walked out of the theater Erin & I noticed that our other friend was in tears -- She actual was annoyed with us for not crying. So be warned, if you're a softy (Which I'm not) you might end up crying.
