Brooklyn & Blown Tires...

So, I went from having this really nice day yesterday to having a craptastic day. Let's start off with the pleasant portion of my day...

I spent the first part of my day in Brooklyn on a library field. I went to the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Botanical Garden with a handful of Librarians from around the county. We had a really nice laid back day walking around looking at art work and then what was left of the flowers, vegetables, herbs and trees at the botanical garden.

After being so proud of myself for making it back and forth from Brooklyn in one piece I stopped at my house, picked up my weekend bag and started to drive over to Justin's because he told me he'd drive me to work in the morning. As I'm driving I hear a weird noise through my music and notice that my car was driving funny, I pull over on the parkway and my driver side tire is completely flat. My tire blew out.

My first instinct is to call my father then my mother and then Justin. My father said he'd be right there (It happened relatively close to my house), so I started to clean out the trunk of my car which is full of crap so that he can get to the doughnut out and a big ass wasp flies into my car and is chilling near the rear window. He gets there and yells at me for taking all of the crap out my car not noticing that I was trying to be helpful and then he tries to put Fix-A-Flat in my tire as he proceeds to yell at me. He drives my car way, leaving me with his car which I can't drive because his car is a stick and eventually he walks back over to me and the car and drive over to my car. The Fix-A-Flat didn't work.

A few minutes later my mother shows up (She was driving home from work when I called her) and they start working on putting the kinda flat doughnut on my car. One thing leads to another and the next thing I know my parents are screaming at each other on the side of the parkway. It was a mess.

Eventually the doughnut is on, my father drive my car home, I drive my mother's car and she drive my dad's. I hop in the car with my father, we put air in the doughnut and head over to the closest Sears Auto Center because that is where I got my last full set of tires last September.

My father and I get there. The guy who works there asks to see my old tire. Tries to give us some crap about they have a four year road hazard warranty but I drove on it blah blah blah... We argue with him for a bit and got him to give me the same exact hundred and something dollar tire for fifteen dollars and change. Within forty-five minutes I have on a new tire and we go home, but the whole time we were there he chewed me out for calling my mother and so on.

When we got home I had a quick dinner, took a sleeping pill and went to bed at 9:30PM which is super early for me. It was a stressful day and I'm glad today is a new day.

  2. That flat tire incident really ruined your day. Sometimes things do come to that. But the positive thing there is that you were able to enjoy your stay in Brooklyn, and your dad was able to help you out as soon as possible. Well, everyday is a new day, and I'm hoping that it won't happen again.
