  1. Ah, I love Clue! That movie is fantastic!

I don't think I have ever had black beans & rice... is it anything like red beans & rice?

Just stopping by to return the GFC Follow. :)

    1. It is! I love Clue so much.

It's kinda different. The black beans and rice I'm referring to is known by Cubans as 'Congri' or 'Moros y Cristianos' It's black beans and rice cooked together so it's like a dry bean and rice dish. It's absolutely one of my favorite foods ever.

    1. Really?!

I don't do recipe recipes because I cook everything to taste but here is mine...

      INGREDIENTS
      - Crushed Red Tomatoes
      - Bacon (You can use Pancetta if you want)
      - Onions
      - Garlic
      - Red Pepper Flakes
      - Garlic Powder
      - Onion Powder
      - Oregano
      - Basil
      - Salt
      - Pepper
      - Heavy Cream
      - Vodka

Cut up bacon and cook until crispy in whatever pot you're going to make the sauce it. Put crispy bacon to the side.

Chop up the onions and sauté them in the bacon grease with garlic cloves. Add crushed tomatoes and spices.

Pour everything in a blender and blend until smooth.

Put it back in the pot. Add some vodka and heavy cream. Cook down.

Serve over penne or rigatoni.Crumble the bacon you put the the side on top.

Lemme know if you try it and how it comes out!

    2. OOOh thank you! That recipe sounds more like the penne ala vodka I know and love. All these recipes online look wrong. No meat and barely there sauce. Totally wrong. Yours I will try for sure! :)

  3. Hi there, I just found your blog via the Sunday Social :-)
Love your list. Love the fact that you put Europe as one place ;-) I would probably do the opposite if I had been that lucky to have visited the States :-) Perspective matters ;-)

And the penne Vodka sounds interesting.. Is it what I think it is (meaning real vodka?)

    1. Thank you!

I put Europe as one place because I went to all of those places during the course of one trip. My best friend and I went on this big European tour as a 25th birthday present to ourselves two years ago. :-D

It's a pasta dish with vodka in a creamy tomato sauce. It's yummy.

Where in Germany are you from?
