Because of obvious reasons (COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, Coronavirus*) I've got the 1987 classic "It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" by R.E.M. stuck in my head. And if it isn't already stuck in your head, here you go...
But in all seriousness, I hope you're all safe and healthy as you social distance!
All day long I've had "Started" by Iggy Azalea stuck in my head and you know how I roll, if it's stuck in my head I'm going to get it stuck in other people's heads...
For the past like five days I've had "It's Gonna Be Me" by N'Sync stuck in my head. Like, so much so that I wore an N'Sync shirt to Brooklyn on Saturday and when I was asked why I was wearing it, I replied "Because it's gonna be May..." Yeah, I know. I'm lame.
But really, do any of you get "It's Gonna Be Me" stuck in their head this time of year? Is it just me?
Also,
is anyone else as excited as I am about all of the N'Sync reunion tour
rumors after Joey, JC, Chris and Lance performed with Ariana Grande at
Coachella? My inner twelve-year-old is so pumped about the idea. I mean,
it would be sad if Justin didn't tour with them but I'd still go see
them.
But that all being said, here it is so that you can have it stuck in your head also...
All day long I've had Lil' Kim's 1997 single "Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix)" featuring Da Brat, Left Eye, Missy "Misdeameanor" Elliott and Angie Martinez stuck in my head.
And as you know, if it's stuck in my head I need to get it stuck in someone else's head, so here it is...
On my way to work this morning I was feeling a bit nostalgic for the music of the early to mid aughts, so I ended up listening to Panic! At The Disco's 2005 album "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" and I currently have "Time to Dance" (Which was one of my favorite songs on the album) stuck in my head. And as you should know by now if it's stuck in my head, I'm gonna try to get it stuck in your head...
What is your favorite music from the early/mid aughts? I would love to know!
All day long I've had "Jackie Chan" by Tiƫsto and Dzeko featuring Preme & Post Malone stuck in my head and you know how I roll, if it's stuck in my head I'm going to get it stuck in other people's heads...
For the past couple of weeks I've had various Drake songs playing on a loop in my brain and today is no different, so I thought that I'd get my currently earworm stuck in other people's heads... Enjoy!
For the first time in a long time I have a song stuck in my head. Literally for the entire past week I've had "Finesse (Remix)" by Bruno Mars featuring Cardi B playing on loop in my brain. It's just so damn catchy and reminds me of the early 90's R&B and rap songs that I love so much.
As you may or may not know, I haven't had very many "Stuck In My Head" posts in the past year because I've spent a lot of my time in the car listening to podcasts or audio books. Thus I haven't been listening to music.
But as of late I feel like I've blow through all my favorite podcasts (Slumber Party with Alie & Georgia is on an indefinite hiatus, so there is an extra hour every week in the car gone) and I haven't found any books that I'd want to listen to on audio.
So I've started listening to more of the music on my iPhone and as a result I have Britney Spears' 1998 debut single stuck in my head all morning.
And as you know, if it's stuck in my head I need to get it stuck in someone else's head, so here it is...
Oh, if you don't hate me for getting some Brit Brit stuck in your head and you have a podcast and/or audio book recommendation for me, I'd love something new to listen to.
I mean, it's not the worst Rodgers and Hammerstein song to have stuck in one's head. But it is stuck in my head nonetheless.
So here it is to get it stuck in your head...
Fun Fact: My sister literally watched The Sound of Music EVERYDAY for the longest time as a child. So I've seen The Sound of Music probably about a 100+ times.
As you all should know by now I love N'Sync, so it should be no surprise that an N'Sync song would be stuck in my head. Especially since I didn't listen to any music while I was away (The only thing I listened to while I was away were podcasts), so of course an N'Sync song would be the one crawl into my brain and take it over.
And because I'm me, here it is so at least one of you can get it stuck in your head too...
I don't know about you guys, but I absolutely love "I'm On A Boat" by
The Lonely Island. So I was so excited to see them do it
with Jimmy and The Roots with classroom instruments.
The whole thing was kinda nostalgic for me, bringing back those 2009 vibes because even though it was just a Grammy-nominated SNL skit it was totally my jam back in the day. Plus I've actually
sang/rapped it at karaoke before (And I'd do it again if the song was available at a karaoke bar, because I know ALL the words).
And then what makes it even better is that you have Jorma sitting there the whole time with the dunce cap on and "The Joy of Land" book?! Just amazing.
So you guys digging it as much as I am? Or am I just a weirdo? Lemme know!
As you guys know, I got into a car accident back in March and I totaled my car. Well I obviously had to get a new car and with my new car I got a three month trial subscription to SiriusXM. And much to my own surprise, I really like it. Like so much so I'm contemplating paying for s subscription when my trial is up.
So since getting it I've been flipping between it (Specifically: SiriusXM FLY, 90's on 9, Pop2k and a handful of over stations) and my podcasts.
Well because I've been so into SiriusXM FLY and 90's on 9, I've heard Warren G and Nate Dogg's "Regulate" so many times can't even count and it's been stuck in my head for the longest time now. And you guys know, if it's stuck in my head I have to get it stuck in other people's heads. So here it is...
For a combination of random reasons including; a Facebook post that Phil wrote about downloading an obscene amount 90's and early 2000's music, as well as me wasting time in a Starbucks in New York City that was playing early 2000's Hip Hop and R&B (Which I was totally digging while I was there because I heard a bunch of songs I hadn't listen to since high school), I have Missy Elliot's "Work It" stuck in my head. And you know how I roll, if it's stuck in my head I have to get it stuck in someone elses...
As a result of my road trip this weekend and telling my sister that the older of Justin's younger sisters is a Panic! At The Disco fan, I've had "Time To Dance" from Panic! At The Disco's 2005 album A 'Fever You Can't Sweat Out' stuck in my head for days. So here is that for you guys...
So back to Justin's sister being a Panic! At The Disco fan. Justin and I think it's funny that she's a Panic! fan because we really enjoyed their first album when it came out and we had seen them on tour back in 2006 when she was only five-years-old. I even went out on Halloween in 2006 dressed as my interpretation of "The virgin the one the lawyer met with on strictly business as he said to the Mrs." from the song "Build God, Then We'll Talk." So it's kinda interesting and funny to us that a band we enjoyed ten years ago is something she is into now.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm back from my latest adventures in Iceland and Amsterdam. This unfortunately not a post about the trip because even though I got back to the states Saturday night after about twelve plus hours of traveling, I am suffering from a wicked case of jet lag.
So no real post about the trip today but I promise that I will have a post up about it within the next week and a half (No waiting for months like my trip to Greece last year). Hopefully I will have it done sooner rather than later because I'll be at New York Comic Con at the end of the week, so I obviously want to write about that too. Fingers crossed.
That all being said, I'll leave you with a few pictures from my Instagram...
As you may or may not know, I work one night a week. So that means I get to lie in bed and watch various morning shows one day a week. Well, while I was mindlessly watching morning shows this morning I saw a commercial for a Gloria and Emilio Estefan musical that is starting next month called Get On Your Feet. Needless to say I'm very excited about this because I grew up listening to Gloria, especially her 1992 Greatest Hits album (I literally had it on cassette tape in my Saturn up until the day I cleaned it out to get rid of it) and 1993's Mi Tierra.
So because of all of this, I've made plans with my sister to see the musical (It all actually worked out really well because we were already going into the city October 24th because I was invited by On Location Tours to take a free tour with them and she was joining me, and the tour happens to end an hour and a half before the first show of the day) and was listening to Gloria in the car all morning. Thus I have a mixture of her songs stuck in my head currently. But the one that sticks out to most is "Music Of My Heart" with N'Sync (You all know I how much I love N'Sync). So here is the music video for that...
FUN FACT: I danced with my father at my wedding to the song "Mi Tierra"
For the past week I've had to run around doing various errands during my lunch break, so I've been in my car listening to the radio (Because it's kind of a waste to only listening to a podcast for like ten or so minutes a clip). And the station I've been stuck on all week has been Hot 97 because they do a throwback at noon mix and I absolutely love hearing all of the old rap/hip hop song from when I was in middle school and high school.
So that all being said, I've had Ol' Dirty Bastard's 1999 single "Got Your Money" stuck in my head all week.
So there is a story behind this song being stuck in my head, granted it's a silly one but there is a story nonetheless...
This past weekend was Lisa's bridal shower and one of the games we played was "Who Has The Groom" -- Which for those of you unfamiliar with it is a game in which you print out pictures of tuxedos, cut out and glue pictures of celebrity heads and the groom's head on to said tuxedos, stuff them into envelopes and at the bridal shower whoever ended up with the groom wins a prize. Well, I'm the person who cut, glued and what-have-you to make the game and one of the celebrity heads was Tyrese's. And every time I looked at his particular card all I could hear in my head was "Sweet lady would you be my sweet love for a lifetime..." So yeah, that is why this song is stuck in my head.
Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the Tyrese card but here are some of the others, including the groom...
