Movie Trailer | Vandal

Recently I was sent the trailer for Jose Daniel Freixas’ feature directorial debut Vandal (2021), which will be available on digital and on-demand November 16th, and it looked too interesting not to share...

Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Website | #VandalMovie

1091 Pictures announced today they have secured the world rights to Jose Daniel Freixas’ feature directorial debut VANDAL. The thriller is an EXILIUM production, and stars Daniel Zovatto (Don’t Breathe), Otmara Marrero (“Connecting…”, “StartUp”), Beau Knapp (Southpaw), Juan Pablo Raba (“Narcos”), Richard Schiff (“The Good Doctor”), and Frankie J. Alvarez (“Looking”). The film will be available to purchase or rent beginning November 16, 2021.

VANDAL is the story of the young leader (Zovatto) of an infamous graffiti crew in Miami who experiences love, loss, and the consequences of his actions as he comes of age, struggling to justify his obsession with illegal street graffiti.

“Graffiti has been a part of my life since I was 10 years old. I grew up through graffiti with so many highs and so many lows along the way. As a filmmaker it has been one of my earliest dreams to make a film that authentically depicts the lives of graffiti artists from the perspective of Miami, and represent my Hispanic culture. I am eternally grateful to our cast and crew for bringing their energy, creativity, and talent to deliver what I believe is one of the greatest films about graffiti ever made. I am equally grateful to 1091 Pictures for believing in this film and helping spread the message and magic of graffiti and street art around the globe. We know Vandal is in great hands with the team at 1091 Pictures,” said Director Jose Daniel Freixas.

Greg Maurice, Director of Content Acquisition for 1091 Pictures stated that  “VANDAL showcases an authentic and unique perspective of the graffiti world. Both The Godfather of LA graffiti, Kelly ‘Risk’ Gravall, and Atlanta graffiti legend, Dax Rudnak from the Dungeon Family, approved of the true experiences graffiti artists encounter through this film. Jay Dee's selection of an inclusive, award-winning crew including Gregory Tripi, Caleb Heyman and Oscar-winning casting director, Yesi Ramirez, was the perfect combination to authentically highlight the world of graffiti, something most people see but know anything about."

VANDAL is directed by Jose Daniel Freixas and written by Freixas, Paul Taegel, Derek Mether, Andrew Bozalis, and Tony Gonzalez. The film is produced by Freixas and Tony Gonzalez. Executive Producers are Rob Weiss, Kelly “Risk” Graval, Marco Vicini, and Tony Gonzalez.

Upcoming projects for Exilium include a film adaption of The Corporation: An Epic Story of the Cuban American Underworld by New York Times bestselling author T.J. English, which will star Benicio Del Toro with Leonardo DiCaprio attached to produce and a forthcoming T.J. English book The Last Kilo: Willie Falcon and the Cocaine Era That Seduced America in the works. Upcoming projects for the cast include Daniel Zovatto in HBO Max’s “Station Eleven” and Otmara Marrero in the upcoming Netflix series “Florida Man”.

Directed by: Jose Daniel Freixas
Cast: Daniel Zovatto, Otmara Marrero, Beau Knapp, Juan Pablo Raba, Richard Schiff, Frankie J. Alvarez, Dax Rudnak, Ralph Rodriguez, Angeline Appel, Manolo Gonzalez-Vergara, Veronica Gessa
Run Time: 01:38:34

Personally I am obsessed with graffiti and other forms of street art, so I definitely will be checking Vandal (2021) out because that world and lifestyle is so interesting to me. I think street artists don't get the credit they deserve, and I don't view them as vandals.

What do you think? Do you enjoy graffiti and street art? Do you think you'll give Vandal (2021) a shot? Lemme know!

Movie Trailer | Being The Ricardos

The teaser trailer for Amazon Studio's upcoming movie Being The Ricardos (2021) came out yesterday, (Which hits theaters on December 10,  2021 and streaming on Prime Video starting December 21, 2021) and because I grew up with my sister being a HUGE Lucille Ball fan (Like some much so I bought a handmade doll of Lucy when my sister found out she was having a girl, as well as a couple of children's books about her), I obviously had to post about the trailer.

Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Website | #BeingTheRicardos

During one production week of “I Love Lucy” — from Monday table read through Friday audience taping — Lucille Ball (Nicole Kidman) and Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem) face a series of personal and professional crises that threaten their show, their careers and their marriage, in writer-director Aaron Sorkin’s behind-the-scenes drama.

Written & Directed by: Aaron Sorkin
Producers: Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch
Cast: Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem, Jake Lacy, J.K. Simmons, Nina Arianda, Tony Hale and Alia Shawkat
Run Time: 125 Minutes
Rating: NR

I'm not going to lie, I don't know how I feel about this one... I try to stay positive with movie trailers but like I said above, my sister is a huge Lucille Ball fan and because of that I've watched A LOT (And I mean A LOT) of I Love Lucy (1951-1957), as well as a bunch of other television shows and movies that Lucy has been in throughout the course of my life. So, I'm kinda leaning towards feeling meh about this one. That being said, I know I'm going to end up watching it with my sister while we're home in December. Hopefully the movie will surprise me because at this point the trailer just makes me want to go to Hulu and watch all six season of I Love Lucy. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

What about you? What do you think of the trailer? Let me know what you think of this first look at Being The Ricardos!

BONUS - Watch Lucie Arnaz (Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz's daughter) discuss her thoughts on the film.

Official Website | Instagram | Facebook | Twitter | #CinderellaMovie

From Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect), Cinderella is a modern musical with a bold take on the story you grew up with. Our ambitious heroine (Camilla Cabello) has big dreams and with the help of her Fab G, she perseveres to make them come true. Cinderella has an all-star cast including Idina Menzel, Minnie Driver, James Corden, Nicholas Galitzine, Billy Porter and Pierce Brosnan.

As someone who is very familiar with Cinderella and has seen/read so many different versions of the fairy tale from all around the World, I think this seems like a cute take on the tale. Plus I love Billy Porter.

I'm really looking forward to this being released next month, so I can watch it with my sister and Mimi.

What about you? What do you think? Are you going to give it a shot or are you just going to stick with another version? Lemme know!

Movie Trailer | Halloween Kills

If you've been lurking around here for any length of time then you know that I absolutely love the Halloween (1978) franchise, and that I'm a sucker for Michael Myers. So I obviously have to share the trailer (Which I know came out about a week ago but I've been super sick for the past two weeks) with all of you for the newest edition to the mythology, Halloween Kills (2021).

Genre: Horror, Thriller
Cast:
Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna, Nicholas Galitzine, Michelle Monaghan and David Duchovny
Director:
David Gordon Green
Producers:
Douglas Wick, Lucy Fisher and Jason Blum
Executive Producers:
Andrew Fleming, Lucas Wiesendanger, Daniel Bekerman, Beatriz Sequeira, Jeanette Volturno, Couper Samuelson, Zoe Lister-Jones and Natalia Anderson
Rated:
R

It's no secret that I didn't love Halloween (2018) because I really enjoy the idea of Michael and Laurie being related and all the complication that plays from Halloween (1978) to Halloween: Resurrection (2002) but this trailer is making me have second thoughts about it. This movie looks incredible to me and I cannot wait to drag my sister to go see it on October 15th, 2021.

What about you? Are you going to watch it? Skip it? Lemme know!

Honestly, Justin and I will be watching this Monday night. Like I said above, we love The Notorious B.I.G. and I think it's a great way to remember him with the anniversary of his death coming up on March 9th. I can't believe it's been almost twenty-four years since he passed. It make me so sad that he was taken away from this world so young. He was such an incredible talent. That all being said, I hope that everyone with a love for music and hip-hop watches this documentary because I looks incredible to me.

What do you think? Are you going to watch it? Were you or are you a fan of Biggie's music? What's your favorite Biggie track? Lemme know!

TV Trailer | Waffle + Mochi

Recently I was sent the synopsis of the upcoming Netflix series Waffle + Mochi (2021 - Present) which is being produced in part by Michelle and Barack Obama. And because I basically fell in love after watching the trailer, I had to share it with all of you.

Official Website | Instagram | Twitter | #WafflesAndMochi

Once upon a thyme, deep in The Land of Frozen Food, lived two best friends named Waffles and Mochi with one shared dream: to become chefs! The only problem? Everything they cooked was made of ice. When these two taste-buddies are suddenly hired as the freshest employees of a whimsical supermarket, they’re ready for the culinary adventure of a lifetime. With the help of friendly new faces like the supermarket owner, Mrs. Obama, and a magical flying shopping cart as their guide, Waffles and Mochi blast off on global ingredient missions, traveling to kitchens, restaurants, farms and homes all over the world, cooking up recipes with everyday ingredients alongside renowned chefs, home cooks, kids and celebrities. Whether they’re picking potatoes in the Andes of Peru, sampling spices in Italy, or making Miso in Japan, these curious explorers uncover the wonder of food and discover every meal is a chance to make new friends. Waffles + Mochi is an exciting invitation to get kids and grown-ups cooking together in the kitchen and connecting to cultures around the globe.

Format: Single Camera (Live Action)
Episodes: 10 x 20 minutes
Showrunners: Erika Thormahlen & Jeremy Konner
Executive Producers: Erika Thormahlen, Jeremy Konner, Tonia Davis, Priya Swaminathan, Barack and Michelle Obama
Production Company: Higher Ground Productions
Featuring: Michelle Obama
Puppeteers: Michelle Zamora (Waffles), Russ Walko (Mochi and Intercommy), Jonathan Kidder (Busy), Diona Elise Burnett (Steve the Mop and voice of Magicart), Taleia Gilliam (Shelfie), Andy Hayward (puppet swing), Piotr Michael (voice of Mochi), George Konner (voice of Intercommy)

C'mon, how cute does this show look?! I honestly cannot wait for it to start airing on March 16th so I can watch it with my sister and Mimi. I think Mimi will absolutely love watching it because she is always pretending to cook in her toy kitchen and is always asking whomever she is in the actual kitchen with if she can help them cook. Plus, I think my sister and I will really enjoy it too -- When we were little little there was no Food Network or Cooking Channel, so we would watch cooking shows on PBS and pretend to cook right along with Lidia Bastianich, Mary Ann Esposito, Ming Tsai, etc. So Waffle + Mochi would have 100% been right up our alley (It still is, we both still LOVE cooking shows).

What do you think? Are you going to watch Waffle + Mochi with a child in your family or on your own? Let me know!

Tabitha, who’s at the top her class at the prestigious Acorn Center for Advanced Childhood, idolizes her Uncle Ted and wants to become like him, but Tim, still in touch with his overactive youthful imagination, worries that she’s working too hard and is missing out on a normal childhood.

When baby Tina reveals that she’s—ta-da!—a top secret agent for BabyCorp on a mission to uncover the dark secrets behind Tabitha’s school and its mysterious founder, Dr. Edwin Armstrong (Jeff Goldblum), it will reunite the Templeton brothers in unexpected ways, lead them to re-evaluate the meaning of family and discover what truly matters. Lisa Kudrow and Jimmy Kimmel also reprise their roles as Ted and Tim’s parents.

Personally I have not seen the original but I do know Toni's children really enjoyed it. I actually remember going with Toni to pick up the girls from the theater after Bianca took Maddie on a sister date to go see it and they were both telling us how cute and funny it was on the drive home.

So what about you? Have you seen the original? Are you excited for the sequel? Lemme know!

Movie Trailer | Candyman

As you may or may not know, I absolutely love horror movies. So when I was sent the trailer for Jordan Peele's adaptation of Bernard Rose's 1992 horror classic Candyman (2020), I was beyond excited to share it with you.
This summer, Oscar® winner Jordan Peele unleashes a fresh take on the blood-chilling urban legend that your friend’s older sibling probably told you about at a sleepover: Candyman. Rising filmmaker Nia DaCosta (Little Woods) directs this contemporary incarnation of the cult classic.

For as long as residents can remember, the housing projects of Chicago’s Cabrini Green neighborhood were terrorized by a word-of-mouth ghost story about a supernatural killer with a hook for a hand, easily summoned by those daring to repeat his name five times into a mirror. In present day, a decade after the last of the Cabrini towers were torn down, visual artist Anthony McCoy (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II; HBO’s Watchmen, Us) and his girlfriend, gallery director Brianna Cartwright (Teyonah Parris; If Beale Street Could Talk, The Photograph), move into a luxury loft condo in Cabrini, now gentrified beyond recognition and inhabited by upwardly mobile millennials.

With Anthony’s painting career on the brink of stalling, a chance encounter with a Cabrini Green old-timer (Colman Domingo; HBO’s Euphoria, Assassination Nation) exposes Anthony to the tragically horrific nature of the true story behind Candyman. Anxious to maintain his status in the Chicago art world, Anthony begins to explore these macabre details in his studio as fresh grist for paintings, unknowingly opening a door to a complex past that unravels his own sanity and unleashes a terrifyingly viral wave of violence that puts him on a collision course with destiny.

Universal Pictures presents, from Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures and Jordan Peele and Win Rosenfeld’s Monkeypaw Productions, in association with BRON Creative, Candyman. Candyman is directed by DaCosta, and is produced by Ian Cooper (Us), Rosenfeld and Peele. The screenplay is by Peele & Rosenfeld and DaCosta. The film is based on the 1992 film Candyman, written by Bernard Rose, and the short story “The Forbidden” by Clive Barker. The film’s executive producers are David Kern, Aaron L. Gilbert and Jason Cloth.

Genre: Horror
Cast: Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Teyonah Parris, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett & Colman Domingo
Director: Nia DaCosta
Screenplay: Jordan Peele, Win Rosenfeld & Nia DaCosta
Producers: Ian Cooper, Win Rosenfeld & Jordan Peele
Executive Producer: David Kern, Aaron L. Gilbert & Jason Cloth

In general, I'm not really into most movie franchise reboots but I am 100% on board for this one because Jordan Peele is involved. The trailer for this movie literally made me squeal because it looks so good. I am very much so going to see this in theaters on June 12th.

What do you think? Are you as pumped as I am? Lemme know!

Movie Trailer | Minions: The Rise Of Gru

Recently I was sent the trailer for Minions: The Rise Of Gru (2020) and because I love me some Minions and adore Gru, I thought that I'd share it with all of you...

This summer, from the biggest animated franchise in history and global cultural phenomenon, comes the untold story of one 12-year-old’s dream to become the world’s greatest supervillain, in Minions: The Rise of Gru.

In the heart of the 1970s, amid a flurry of feathered hair and flared jeans, Gru (Oscar® nominee Steve Carell) is growing up in the suburbs. A fanboy of a supervillain supergroup known as the Vicious 6, Gru hatches a plan to become evil enough to join them. Luckily, he gets some mayhem-making backup from his loyal followers, the Minions. Together, Kevin, Stuart, Bob, and Otto—a new Minion sporting braces and a desperate need to please—deploy their skills as they and Gru build their first lair, experiment with their first weapons and pull off their first missions.

When the Vicious 6 oust their leader, legendary fighter Wild Knuckles (Oscar® winner Alan Arkin), Gru interviews to become their newest member. It doesn’t go well (to say the least), and only gets worse after Gru outsmarts them and suddenly finds himself the mortal enemy of the apex of evil. On the run, Gru will turn to an unlikely source for guidance, Wild Knuckles himself, and discover that even bad guys need a little help from their friends.

Teeming with Illumination’s signature subversive humor, pop-culture sophistication, full-hearted emotion, bold music sensibility, and over-the-top action, Minions: The Rise of Gru features a thrilling new cast of stars, including, as members of the Vicious 6, Taraji P. Henson as cool and confident leader Belle Bottom, Jean-Claude Van Damme as Jean Clawed, Lucy Lawless as Nunchuck, Dolph Lundgren as Svengeance and Danny Trejo as Stronghold. The film also features Russell Brand as Dr. Nefario, an aspiring mad scientist, Michelle Yeoh as Master Chow, an acupuncturist with mad Kung Fu skills, and Oscar® winner Julie Andrews as Gru’s maddeningly self-absorbed mom.

Steered by the franchise’s original creators, Minions: The Rise of Gru is produced by visionary Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborators Janet Healy and Chris Renaud. The film is directed by returning franchise filmmaker Kyle Balda (Despicable Me 3, Minions), co-directed by Brad Ableson (The Simpsons) and Jonathan del Val (The Secret Life of Pets films), and features the iconic voice of Pierre Coffin as the Minions and a killer ΚΌ70s soundtrack courtesy of legendary Grammy-winning music producer Jack Antonoff.

Genre: Action-Comedy
Cast: Steve Carell, Taraji P. Henson, Michelle Yeoh, RZA, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Lucy Lawless, Dolph Lundgren, Danny Trejo, Russell Brand, with Julie Andrews & Alan Arkin
Director: Kyle Balda
Co-Directors: Brad Ableson & Jonathan del Val
Producers: Chris Meledandri, Janet Healy & Chris Renaud
Release Date: July 3rd, 2020

I don't know about you, but I'm excited for July 3rd because I really do love the Minons and Despicable Me franchise. I think the movies are so cute and funny. And honestly, I can't wait to watch them with Mimi when she's a little older.

What about you? Do you enjoy the Minions? Are you as intruged as I am to find out about little Gru? Lemme know!
