Cookin' Librarian: Fried Shirmp Wontons & Shrimp Teriyaki...


Fried Shrimp Wontons
• Shrimp • Ginger • Garlic • Scallions • Won Ton Wrappers •
• Chili Garlic Sauce • Onion Powder • Garlic Powder • Black Pepper •

  1. Chop shrimp into small pieces
  2. Peal and then grated and/or chop ginger *
  3. Dice scallions 
  4. Add onion powder, garlic powder & back pepper** 
  5. Add two tablespoons of chili garlic sauce to the mixture
  6. Put all ingredients in a zip top bag & mix everything together
  7. Set mixture aside in the refrigerator 
  8. Line up wonton wrappers
  9. Add a small amount of filling
  10. Brush water on the edges of the won ton wrappers to seal them
  11. Fry in vegetable oil

Shrimp & Asparagus Teriyaki
• Shrimp • Asparagus • Ginger • Garlic • Chili Garlic Sauce •
• Sesame Teriyaki Sauce • Ginger Powder • Garlic Powder • Onion Powder •
• Black Pepper • Egg Whites • Corn Starch • Scallions • White Rice •
  1. Peal and then grate and/or chop ginger*
  2. Chop and/or grate garlic
  3. Mix sesame teriyaki sauce, chili garlic sauce, garlic & some of the ginger
  4. Coat asparagus in some of sesame teriyaki sauce mixture & place in oven until cooked
  5. Put cleaned shrimp & the rest of ginger in a zip top bag
  6.  Add onion powder, garlic powder, ginger powder & back pepper**  
  7. Coat mixture with corn starch (To help the egg whites stick)
  8.  Dip shrimp into egg whites
  9. Dredge in more corn starch
  10. Fry shrimp in vegetable oil
  11. Coat in sauce mixture
  12. Serve over white rice with scallions on top
* = Justin and I like chucks of ginger in our food, but if you don't you can just grate some in.
** = Add as much as you think you'd like. I make everything to taste.

  1. Dang girl! If I wasn't a vegetarian, I would chow this up! But my boyfriend isn't so maybe I will make it for him :]
