More Weeding...

Here are some more awesomely bad books (and one rogue VHS tape that somehow got left on the shelf) that I've found throughout my latest adventures weeding through the non-fiction collection.

First Sunday...

Today was the first Sunday that I've worked in over a month and it was so boring. I was working with my Department Head (whom I love) but she is such a pain in the ass on Sundays. She always finds the most random and/or tedious tasks to do. Today she had me call forty people that signed up for this program we're having on Wednesday to tell them to bring cereal and/or brightly colored boxes with them because that is what the program provider asked us to do Friday -- People signed up for this program over a month ago, you think the guy would have warned us about this when we first booked him.

After that I created certificates for various people, withdrew a bunch of Magic School Bus VHS tapes (which I brought home for my sister because she loved the Magic School Bus as a kid), yelled at children for various reasons, etc.

On top off all of this we had elementary aged kids in today talking to each other about Jersey Shore -- Which we just found disturbing, children screaming at their grandparents for various reasons, children hiding and freaking their grandparents out, teenage girls doing exercises on the floor in our Young Adult Fiction room, stupid question, etc. Thankfully I get paid double time on Sundays to deal with all of this crap.

The Last Of The VHS Tapes...

I finally finished weeding the VHS tapes during my internship this week and here are the last of the awesomely bad looking tapes that were left.

I'm particularly fond of the MTV The Grind (1992-1997) tapes, it reminds me of my childhood/tweeness.

Unfortunately after weeding the date rape video I had Sublime's song "Date Rape" stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

Attack Of The VHS Tapes...

I got a new assignment as per the Assistant Director to do during my internship. I am currently weeding and withdrawing all of the nonfiction VHS tapes that can still be found in the library and I am replacing them with DVDs (This is what I did for four hours last night).

As you can guess I've come across some gems and I've made a point of taking pictures of them so that I may show the World how badly our nonfiction audiovisual collection needed to be weeded.

The cart in the photo contained 342 VHS tapes and that isn't even half of the VHS tapes that I pulled off of the shelves. There will be more VHS updates.
