Afternoon At Belmont Lake State Park...

As you guys know Justin and I like ourselves a nice picnic in the park, so this past Saturday we decided to try out a new park and we went to Belmont Lake State Park for one of our random day dates. Here are the pictures...

There wasn't anything crazy exciting about this park but we still had a nice time. We did go paddle boating, which was what made the park not lame but it also wasn't the best idea because it was crazy hot on the lake.

You guys do anything fun this past weekend?

Stuck In My Head: Rude...

I honestly don't know why I enjoy "Rude" by MAGIC! so much because I honestly cannot relate to it at all, but I kinda love this song.

And for those of you wondering, no Justin did not ask my father if he could marry me before he proposed. Not because my father would object or anything but because my father has a big mouth when it comes to my sister and I and he would have totally told me about it before it happened.

But I'm curious, would or have any of your fathers said no when your significant other asked if they could marry you? Lemme know.

Wedding Update...

Since my last wedding post the following has happened...
  • I've done some more dress shopping and have been unable to find a wedding dress from your typical bridal boutique (Damn lack of dresses for plus size women! I'm a big girl that doesn't want to look like a cupcake walking down the "aisle") -- I did pick up two dresses from Macy's and another from ModCloth. So, I'm kind of just collecting dresses I can return at the moment.
  • Justin and I have picked out the reading we'd like to have for our ceremony and decided that I'm going to write the same vows for us each to say to one another -- Justin sucks and can't write his own, and we didn't like any of the vows we found online.
  • We found a restaurant we wanted to have lunch with our guests at after our ceremony -- We had some booking problems with them at first but everything has since been sorted out.
  • We decided that we wanted to honeymoon in Greece and are searching for flights so we can book this sweet tour we found.
  • I've been searching in thrift store and flea markets for brooches for my brooch bouquet -- I scored a few nice ones over the weekend at a local flea market.
  • I've been searching all of those booking sites for a deal on a hotel room so I can wake up in New York City that morning and not have to worry about having my hair and makeup done then rushing into the city.
  • I've arranged it so that my friend Jamie who works in a salon is going to come to whatever hotel I book and do my makeup, as well as Erin and my sisters. And she got one of the girls she works with on board to do all of our hair. So I'm super excited about that.
That's been really it. I have a lot more that I have to get done but I think I'm doing well.

Dave Chappelle At Radio City Music Hall...

Saturday evening Justin and I headed into New York City to see Dave Chappelle perform at Radio City Music Hall, which was kinda of awesome because he hadn't performed in New York City in over ten years -- It was kinda cute how excited Justin was when the tickets when on sale a couple of months back, he was a huge fan of Chappelle's Show (2003-2006).
The show was scheduled to start at 8:00pm but it didn't. Sometime after 8:30pm Donnell Rawlings ("Ashy Larry" for those of you that watched Chappelle's Show back in the day) came on and did about a half an hour set. Which was very good.

When he was done the DJ claimed Chappelle would be on in 10 minutes, that wasn't the case. We waited what seemed like forever for him to come on but when he did finally get on stage he didn't disappoint. He put on a great show. Justin and I were cracking up the whole time and I'm so glad Justin we decided to shell out the money (The tickets weren't cheap) to see him.

It was an awesome evening and I'd totally see him again.

1. What’s Your Favorite Scary Movie?
Halloween (1978)

2. What Is Your Favorite Weird TV Show You Think No One Else Watches?
The Dead File (2011-Present) which is a paranormal show on Travel Channel that follows psychic medium Amy Allan and former NYPD homicide detective Steve DiSchiavi as they separately investigate locations that are reported to be haunted and come together at the end to reveal their findings to the owners of the haunted location.

3. What Is The Song You Can Sing All The Words To Without Any Music?
Oh, there are a ton of those... It's actually kind of embarrassing how many songs I can just bust into without music. If you ask nicely I might confess some...

4. What Is Your Favorite Book To Re-Read?
Honestly, I haven't re-read a non-picture book (I do story time at the library so I read the same picture books over and over again throughout the course of a week or so) in a while. At this point I'm lucky to make it through a book once. But I have in the past re-read all of the Harry Potter books.

5. The One Website You Visit More Times A Day Than Others?
Currently it has been Brit + Co, but some others are A Beautiful Mess, Refinery29 and Pinterest.

Snippets From My Week...

Here is a little glimpse of the past week of my life via my Instagram...

Breast Cancer Fundraiser...

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this in the past, but my sister and Erin work for the same company and the company is very big on raising money for breast cancer research (They are actually in the top ten of Pacesetter Teams for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer). So last night they had an event here on Long Island where some of the doctors from the practice played bartender for the night to raise money and I just thought I'd share a few pictures from the night...
It was a great night out for a great cause. I can't wait until their next event.

Twenty Years In The Making...

I just finally got around to watching the trailer for Dumber and Dumber To (2014), which for those of you that don't know is the sequel to the 1994 comedy Dumb and Dumber starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels as Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne, two dimwitted friends on a cross-county trip trying to return a briefcase full of money to it's owner while being followed by criminals who are after the money. And I'm not gonna lie, I'm kind of intrigued by it. I enjoyed the original (Which I had actually watched again about a month or so ago on TV) and I kinda wanna know what has happen in the twenty years since the original film.

What do you guys think? Here is the trailer for those of you that haven't seen it...

So, how do you guys feel about sequels to movies coming out twenty years after the original? Are you like me and curious to see what the characters have been up to since the last time you saw them or do you think their ship sailed a long time ago and you're uninterested? Lemme know.

Stuck In My Head: Bailando...

I've had Enrique Iglesias' song "Bailando" stuck in my head for like the past two days and I'm totally okay with it because I kinda love this song.

Grooveshark doesn't have the English version, which is the one stuck in my head up. So here is the music video for that one...

But if you want to her the Spanish version, here that is...

Actually Doing Work At Work...

I just wanted to touch base and let everyone know the only reason that I've been missing in action this time around is because I've actually been busy at work -- Shocker, I know. The summer reading club starts next week so I've been out on the floor decorating and when I'm not doing that, as well as my regularly scheduled programs, I've been setting up iPads (We just got a Crayon Kiosk yesterday, which is this thing that looks like a crayon that hold iPads for the kiddies to use) & other tablets for the patrons to use. So, I should be done with almost all of that by next week but I'm hoping I can sneak in a post or two before that.

Sorry I suck. I leave you with Steve...

Overdue: Floyd Bennett Field In Brooklyn...

While Phil, Erin and I were in Brooklyn in the beginning of last month we spent some time walking around near some of the abandoned buildings at Floyd Bennett Field, here are those pictures...
