Mini Rant: How Easy It Is To Break Victoria's Secret PINK Water Bottles...

Why is it that every time I drop a Victoria's Secret PINK water bottle it breaks and I have to go get a new one? It doesn't even matter where I drop it or what kind of surface it falls on to, they just break. Who do I need to speak to about making these water bottles out of thicker plastic?? I'd totally pay extra for it because they PINK bottles are so cute. I guess until this happens I'll just have to get another bottle and hope that I don't drop it.

Does anyone else have this problem? Am I just a klutz who drops water bottles?

Mini Rant: Wandering Away During A Webinar...

I'm so mad right now! I'm sitting at my desk trying to listen to a webinar and both "Julia" and "Amy" are supposed to be at the reference desk helping patrons and they both wandered away! I had to get up in the middle of listening to my webinar and help a patron because they both went God knows where. I swear as soon as I'm done with this webinar that I'm gonna go off on them.

Mini Rant: Driving Around The Airport...

Apparently a couple of months back I promised Justin that I'd pick him up from the airport last night and honestly I completely forgot until he texted me midday yesterday -- Yes, I am a terrible girlfriend.

So, I had to make the trek over to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in the dark and drive through that maze to get to the terminal. Can we just talk about how ass backwards the layout of JFK is? I swear it frustrates the hell out of me every time I have to drive through that place. It's this meandering jumble of roads, signs, etc. -- I'm clenching my jaw just thinking about it. I really really really hate driving through there and I don't know why people ask me to pick them up because I just end up so frustrated by the time I get to them. Ugh!

Have any of you ever driven through JFK before? Is it not the most frustrating place ever when you have to pick someone up or is it just me? Like I'm okay with the place when I'm the person being dropped off and/or picked up, but not when I'm bringing/picking up someone else.

NOTE: This would have been a longer rant with lots of expletives if I would have written it after I had actually driven through the airport.

Mini Rant: Closing The Library Because Of Sandy...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love my library and I love my Director but not when it comes to weather related issues. The area where I live and work was put under mandatory evacuation and it took hours after the announcement was made for someone to get in contact with me to give the official word that the library would be close tomorrow. I mean seeing as there was a mandatory evacuation it was kind of a no brainer that we wouldn't open, but c'mon we should have been informed hours before we actually were because people need to make arrangements. It was just so irritating to me. I mean I know I should be happy that I'm somewhere safe and that I don't have to worry about traveling in that weather tomorrow, but there was no reason for them to take so long to contact the staff.

Mini Rant: Bringing You Kid On A Date With You...

I'm sitting at the Reference Desk and I hear this new (weird) mother that has been coming in as of late talking to one of the nannies that comes in all the time and she is telling her that she brings her toddler on all of her dates with her. How odd it that? Why would you bring your small child on dates with you? Why would you want to expose your child to random men? This just seems so weird to me! What do you guys think?

UPDATE - 6:30pm
The originial nanny left and a new one came in and she started talking to that one. "I'm single... I think I should just keep talking to men until I find one that accepts me..." The new lady wasn't even talking about dating with her. So weird.

1, 2, 3... Rant!...

I'm currently at work and I'm am very irritated. First off, in the past two days more than one person has referred to me as a "girl" who works in the Youth Services Department. Are people trying to be disrespectful on purpose or are they just stupid? Aside from the fact that I am a 27-year-old woman, I am a librarian in this building and I should be referred to as a librarian and not just some girl who just to happens to work in the Youth Services Department.

Secondly, I just had to school "Julia" on how most Cubans are actually very well educated individuals and that Cuba is not some ass backwards country, it's just communist. She made a very uninformed and rude comment about me visiting Cuba to build a library like they didn't have one.

Thirdly, I came on here to rant and saw that I lost a follower. That is so upsetting. I don't unfollow anyone's blog that I started to follow. It's so upsetting loosing a follower. It's like, what did I do that this person decided that my blog sucked and they didn't wanna be bothered by me anymore.

So yeah, I'm not in the best of moods right now. I hope everyone else is having a better day than I am.

Mini Rant: Sleeping In...

I would really like to know why every time I have a day off someone has to walk into my bedroom, calls me, texts me or whatever. Everyday this past week someone has woken me up when I didn't need to be up. All I want to do it sleep in!!!

Mini Rant: Lunch Breaks...

Why is it that every time "Julia" comes in at 10:00am she thinks it's okay to ask for the first available lunch break at 12:00pm?! I'm not hungry or anything but I came in at 9:00am, she should be asking me if it's okay to take the 12:00pm lunch not our Department Head who came in at 11:ooam!!!

Mini Rant: Graduation...

I swear "Julia" is one of the nosiest and stupidest people that I have ever met. I am sitting at my desk talking with "Amy" about my upcoming graduation ceremony and "Julia" decides to chime in -- No one was talking to her. She starts stuttering, asking when it is and talking about when she graduated a million years ago like I care. It says in big letter on our weekly schedule that I'm graduating on Friday, she has had this schedule since the beginning of last week. Stupid bitch.

Why does a five-year-old child need to go on the computer first thing in the morning? I really don't understand these parents.

Mini Rant: Not Your Library Bitch...

I am not your library bitch. I am not working in the library to be your personal librarian. Just because I'm your friend/girlfriend/whatever doesn't mean I want to return your materials, find items and deliver them to you or anything else along those lines for you. So you need to get your ass up and go to the library to do all this crap for yourself.

Mini Rant: I Didn't Make The Rules...

Okay, lets get something straight, I didn't make the rules. I just enforce them. So please refrain from being nasty to me because it makes me wants to not help you and ruin your day.

Mini Rant: "Is This The Children's Room?!"

Whenever I answer the phone at the library I say " __________ Public Library Youth Services Department. How may I help you?" I don't know about you, but I think that is a very clear statement. So why is it that 7 out of 10 people always as me after I say it "Is this the children's room?" I know I didn't stutter when I answered the phone. So what is it that people don't get about "Youth Services Department" ???? It really makes me angry. Ugh!

Mini Rant: Restaurants...

Mini Rant: I don't understand why there are commercials for restaurants/fast food joints that aren't anywhere near where I live. It is one of those stupid things that urkes the crap out of me because I feel like it is so necessary.
