I unfortunately can't attend because it is in Missouri and I already have my vacation time for the year used for various trips (That I can't wait to tell you all about!!!). But are any of you going? I'd love to know!
Can we talk about what Tropical Storm Andrea did to my day today? Well, thanks to Tropical Storm Andrea I had the pleasure of dealing with water pouring from a light fixture in the library's program room as I was in the middle of Drawing Club (It was great having ten kids screaming that there was a leak), the power going out in the library over an hour before it was supposed to close for the day (Full of patrons that we had to kick out in the pouring rain), helping lift stuff off the floor in the library in case the water got into the building (The water was higher than the curb in front of the building), driving through flooded streets in my super low to the ground Saturn (I had heart palpitations the whole ride, which was supposed to take me seven minutes but ended up taking me over thirty) and being stuck at my parents' house because the road that I needed to take out of town was flooded that badly.
Yeah, today kinda sucked. Did anyone else have to deal with Tropical Storm Andrea today?
Why is it that every time I drop a Victoria's Secret PINK water bottle it breaks and I have to go get a new one? It doesn't even matter where I drop it or what kind of surface it falls on to, they just break. Who do I need to speak to about making these water bottles out of thicker plastic?? I'd totally pay extra for it because they PINK bottles are so cute. I guess until this happens I'll just have to get another bottle and hope that I don't drop it.
Does anyone else have this problem? Am I just a klutz who drops water bottles?
Since going out on Saturday night for my sister's birthday party I've had "Clarity" by Zedd featuring Foxes stuck in my head and it makes me want to dance. Hope you guys feel like dancing!
I don't normally listen to the radio while I drive to work and for some reason I found myself flipping through the stations this morning instead of plugging in my iPhone like I typically do. I ended up listening to Z100 (WHTZ 100.3 here in the New York area) because I heard the morning show people mention horror movies. As you may or may not know I love horror movies, so I had to keep listening. They were talking about horror movies that scared people as children that still freak them out today.
This got me thinking, and honestly I can't think of any movies that scared the crap out of me that still freak me out as an adult. I mean, as a child Halloween (1978) freaked me out to the point where I walked along the walls when I had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, but that didn't last for very long.
So, are there any horror movies you guys watched as children that still freak you out till this day?
Yesterday Justin, Phil, another friend of ours and I finally got around to watching the new season on Arrested Development on Netflix and in honor of a new season after seven years I decided to make frozen banana's for us to eat while we were watching the new episodes.
1. Cut bananas in half ← I used one banana per person
2. Stick popsicle/craft stick into the flat portion of the banana
3. Put the bananas into the freezer
4. Chop up your toppings of choice, place in bowls and set aside
5. Cover a sheet pan with aluminum foil or wax paper and set aside
6. Using a small sauce pan boil some water
7. In a mixing bowl that fits into the sauce pan put in a small mixture of both types of chocolate chips ← From past chocolate covered mistakes I've learned to melt the chocolate in small batches so it doesn't get clumpy & gross
8. Place the mixing bowl on top of the sauce pan and stir the chocolate chips until melted
9. Dip frozen bananas in melted chocolate one at a time
10. Immediately cover with toppings and place on the lined sheet pan
11. Put covered bananas back into the freezer
12. Take out ten minutes before serving and enjoy
That's Justin's hand in the picture, he couldn't wait to try a banana
As you've probably noticed I've been M.I.A.-ish for like a week and a half. Well, I've had a bunch of randomness happening in life thus keeping me away from my computer. I've been dealing with my family, visiting people in the hospital, more than one person with cancer, my sister's birthday, my college friends' wedding, etc. And on top of everything I haven't been feeling well on and off for the past two weeks. I don't know about you guys, but when I'm not feeling so hot I'm super unmotivated.
But that all being said, I'm back and I'm ready to blog!
