Party People In Instagram & Vine...

Saturday night I went to a party at one of my friend's houses and since it was your typical (Hawaiian themed) house party I figured I'd just post the Instagram pictures instead of writing about it...

Day In NYC & Tickets To The Daily Show...

About a month and a half ago "Lexie" invited me and another one of our friends to go with her to a taping of The Daily Show with Jon Steward and obviously I jumped on the chance to go because I love me a good TV show taping. So instead of just going in for the taping in the afternoon we decided to make a day out of it and chill in the city before heading over to the studio.

We got into the city a little before 12:00pm and decided to head over to Cafeteria (Which is like our TV show taping food stop every time) for a quick lunch.
After enjoyed our various meals (I got truffle oil mac & cheese with a side of truffle parmesan fries and a blackberry lemonade) we hopped on the subway uptown and headed to the studio. We waited online for a while and then they started giving out tickets. Once we got our tickets we were told to go do whatever for an hour and a half and then come back for the actual taping.

We all decided that we need some coffee and we walked around for a bit until we found this random little place where we basically hung out the whole time before heading back by the studio.
Before we were allowed to go in we were separated by ticket number and while we were waiting in our little numbered group I ended up dropping my iPhone and breaking the glass on the screen -- Which sucked so hard. Since I wasn't gonna leave and not go to the taping I texted Justin about what happened and turned my phone off like I was told to.

Once inside we got seats and watched the show. The guest was Oscar-winning film director Danny Boyle (He did 28 Days Later, Slumdog Millionaire, The Beach, Trainspotting, 127 Hours, etc.) and he was talking about his new movie Trance (2013) which actually looks really good.

Overall, you know aside from breaking my iPhone, I had a great day in the city and I'd totally love to do it again with the ladies.

NOTE: I have some pictures on Instagram that I took throughout the course of the day but for some reason Instagram hasn't been working for the past two days.

NOTE NOTE: Instagram works again, thus I added pictures!

Mini Rant: Wandering Away During A Webinar...

I'm so mad right now! I'm sitting at my desk trying to listen to a webinar and both "Julia" and "Amy" are supposed to be at the reference desk helping patrons and they both wandered away! I had to get up in the middle of listening to my webinar and help a patron because they both went God knows where. I swear as soon as I'm done with this webinar that I'm gonna go off on them.

Opening Day At Citi Field 2013...

As we do almost every year, Justin and I went to opening day at Citi Field to see the New York Mets play the San Diego Padres -- Whom they rocked.

In true opening day fashion we got to the stadium two hours before the start time of the game to get a sweet parking spot (A spot as close as we can get to an exit), have some stadium food for lunch (Citi Field actually has some pretty good, yet pricey-ish food), watch batting practice and wander over to our seats so Justin can start filling out his score book.
We spent the next few hours watching the Mets rock the Padres in the cold -- It was 59 degrees in the sun, but since we were in the shade it was freezing and by the time the game was over I was done and needed to be somewhere warm.

We had a nice time, but I told Justin that I wasn't going to another game until it was warm out.

Easter Dinner With Both Families...

You'd think that since Justin and I have been dating for over ten years that we would have had tons of family dinner with both of our families, but no we had our first combined family dinner today for Easter.

This whole thing came about because Justin's mother is one to "take on strays" and while we were over her house last weekend she found out that we still have stuff in our dinning room from downstairs (Our den still isn't fixed after Hurricane Sandy) and she insisted that I invite my parents over for dinner. And surprisingly they said yes.

So fast forward to today... Justin, my sister and I got over to Justin's mother's house early (My dad works on Sundays, so he and my mother came later on in the afternoon) so that I could start preparing all of the food for dinner and force my sister and Justin to help me. And boy did we prep a lot of food -- I made tons of guava puffs for dessert, fried eggplant with goat cheese, antipasto salad, spinach fish and lemon rice.
My parents got to Justin's mother's house a little after 3:00pm and almost immediately Justin's stepfather got my father into his music room and they disappeared for what seemed like forever -- They missed out on my awesome fried eggplant, pull apart bread and drinks, while they were jamming away.

At some point we had Justin's sister call them into the dinning room because we were going to start on the antipasto. Once we got them into the room we all sat down and just ate, chit chatted, etc. It was nice.

Overall dinner went extremely well. Everyone was on their best behavior (I was worried about my family because we don't typically behave well) and it seemed like everyone enjoyed themselves -- Not that I honestly care very much because it's not like I want Justin's mom and stepfather to be my parents best friends. But yeah, I hope I don't have to do that again anytime soon just because it was tiring.

I hope that all of you had a happy Easter if you celebrated it! And if not, I just you had a nice Sunday!
