A Beautiful Mess 30-Day Self-Portrait Challenge...
As you all know I love the idea of a good photo challenge and the girls over at A Beautiful Mess (Which is one of my absolute favorite blogs) announced that in honor of their new photography book "A Beautiful Mess Photo Idea Book: 95 Inspiring Ideas for Photographing Your Friends, Your World, and Yourself
" that is coming out next month (August 13th to be exact) that they are having a thirty day self-portrait challenge -- It technically started yesterday, I don't know how I missed it.
According to their site you can share your photos via your blog, instagram (#ABeautifulMess) or any other site you choose! Elsie and Emma will be sharing theirs via instagram (elsiecake + emmaredvelvet). At the end of the 30 days they are even going to choose a few of people to send signed copies of their new book to, which I think is super exciting.
I don't know about you but you but I'm going to give this one a shot. Lemme know if you are joining in!

Morning Full Of Stupidity...
I'm currently at work and I am beyond frustrated this morning thanks to "Julia" and "Amy's" stupidity.
I have "Amy" making phone calls trying to get in touch with her elderly father over something to do with a broken air conditioner and her daughter's asthma. I wouldn't normally mind this but she wasn't paying attention to anything or helping me set up for HER program.
"Julia" is telling patrons they can sign up for programs that are completely filled -- Even as I stand behind her and tell her that the class is full and I'm not taking anymore children.
On top of that she is making ridiculous calls to hardware stores asking which would be the best soil to use for a shoe box archeology dig program she is having.

I don't know how I'm going to make it to the end of the day. These two are killing me.

Friday's Letters...
Dear Starr: I'm so happy that your little kitty-self is feeling better!
Dear Vet That Treated Starr: You charged Erin how much to just tell her that Starr was dehydrated?!? You suck. I'm making a mental note to never go to you ever.
Dear Fashion To Figure: Why do you always have such cute clothing all the time? You make me want to spend all my money on dresses that I don't necessarily need.
Dear Library Gods: Why does "Julia" never get in trouble for all of the stupid crap she pulls?!?!!?? Why was it okay to call in sick and come into work the next day with her hair dyed? Why was it okay for her to come into work at 10:00am today, take over a 20 minute break just for the sake of having a break, take another 20 minute break to attend a Union meeting and then go to lunch a 1:00pm?? You know she is probably going to take another break later too! Please tell me there is a reason for all of this.
Dear Pile Of Donated Books On My Desk: Why don't you have call numbers on your verso pages?
Dear Rain: Go away! I'd rather it be humid out!
Dear S.S. Make It To Key West: I can't wait to take you out on the Susquehanna next weekend!
Dear Justin: I hope you've mentally prepared yourself for going antiquing Upstate next week!
Dear Readers: As always, you are all amazing. Have a great weekend!

Stuck In My Head: I Knew You Were Trouble...
The biggest problem I have with this particular song stuck in my head is the fact that it is stuck in my head (Damn you Taylor Swift for this catchy catchy song!), and all I can think about it the YouTube screaming goat version -- Which if you haven't seen is kinda amusing.
And here it is for your viewing pleasure...

Sick Days...
So, on Monday I really wasn't feeling well and I ended up calling in sick to work (I woke up at 5:00am and it felt like someone was kicking my in the stomach with boots on). When I called in at 8:30am to speak to my Director (Before the library actually opens and so he could give people in my department a heads up as they came into the building) and tell him that I wouldn't be coming in he decided to be snarky with me and ask me why I was calling in. He got a snarky answer back from me, he said whatever and I proceeded being sick all day in my apartment.
Fast forward to yesterday. It's after 9:00am and "Julia" calls up our department and tells "Marie" that she won't be coming into work because she isn't feeling well. "Marie" puts her on hold because when you call in sick in our building you have to speak to either your Department Head, the Director, Assistant Director or our payroll lady -- Which "Julia" knows, but she thinks she is being slick or whatever by calling the actual department even though we all make her talk to one of the above. Our Director, Assistant Director and Department Head all aren't in the building, so "Marie" had to get our payroll lady. She apparently didn't pick up fast enough because "Julia" hung up and never spoke to her or anyone else in charge.
Fast forward to today. She comes into work late with her hair dyed a new color. So basically this waste called in sick to get her hair colored leaving the department short the day before ("Amy" also called out) without speaking to anyone, while I got snarkiness about being actually sick Monday.
I cannot tell you how annoyed I was and still am. I actually went to find my Director and went off about the whole thing. He just looked at me and said I could get mad/loud with him all I wanted if it made me feel better but there was nothing he could say or do about it no matter how annoying the situation may by.
Ugh!

Good Vibes & Thoughts For Starr...
I just found out that Erin's cat Starr had a seizure earlier today. She was admitted to an animal hospital and is staying overnight to have testing done.
This is all extra horrible because I was telling Erin's mother over the weekend how much I loved their cat and how I'd be just as upset as they would be if she was to pass away and/or something was to happen to her. So now I feel really shitty like this is somehow my fault.
If you guys have good vibes/thoughts/prayers you could send out to Starr I'd totally appreciated it and I know Erin would also. Thanks! I'll keep everyone up-to-date on her condition.
