TRL Presents: Christina Stripped in NYC...

I mentioned in The Chew post that in 2002 I was at a taping of TRL Presents: Christina Stripped in NYC under the Brooklyn Bridge, well here is the video of the performance and a few screen shots where you can actually see me.

Here are the screen shots where you can see myself and Chas (aka The Bride). I captured these from the 1:57 and 2:19 marks...
So yup, that is seventeen-year-old Misfit enjoying some kinda live Christina. I actually got to watch her do this twice at this taping. The first time she actually sang the song but she wasn't feeling well so they reshot the whole thing with the track playing and her lip syncing. I remember it being a lot of fun

The Chew...

Today I had the pleasure of being in the audience of ABC's show The Chew. I went to the taping with my sister, Phil and one of our other friends. It was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the whole experience. I would recommend getting tickets (Which are FREE) if you know you're going to be in New York City, especially if you love any of the hosts or food,.

The taping I got to watch (Which was from 9:00am to 10:00am) didn't have any celebrity guests or giveaways, but all of the hosts were actually there which was good enough for me. All of the hosts were really nice, Mario & Micheal were signing people's copies of their cookbooks, Carla said hi to Phil and she actually let someone look down the back of her shirt to see what the brand was and Clinton & Daphne were talking to audience members. I thought they were all great.
Overall, it was probably my favorite television audience experience ever and I've been to a few tapings in the past. I've been in the audience of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (That is where I met Brandon Boyd from Incubus after the show), It's On with Alexa Chung and at TRL Presents: Christina Stripped in NYC 2002 (A Christina Aguilera special. I was at the portion underneath the Brooklyn Bridge where she sang "Dirrty").
As I mentioned, I went with three other people but we didn't all leave from the same place so a bit of chaos ensued. My sister and I left from Long Island by the Long Island Rail Road, while Phil and my other friend drove in from elsewhere. My sister and I got into NYC with ample time (We woke up at 4:00am to catch a 5:00am something train in order to be at ABC studios in NYC before the doors opened at 7:45am), while the others got stuck in traffic and got to the studio by the skin of their teeth. It was sooooo frustrating. My sister and I were constantly asking ABC staff members when they would stop letting people on set before the show started taping and obviously we got different answers from everyone we spoke to.

I honestly did not think they would get in. And by the time they did there were no more seats. The staff actually got them two chairs and put them in front of the normal studio audience seating, which was super nice of them. Moral of the story, I would not recommend going to a television show taping and not all leaving together. Luckily the people that work for The Chew were super nice and went above and beyond anything I would have expected.

After the taping of the show the four of us waited outside for a bit and we ended up seeing Mario Batali & Michael Simon hop on the same scooter and drive away. I actually got a few pictures...

We were all hoping to see Carla but we didn't. So after waiting a while we decided to go get something to eat. We ended up at Alice's Tea Cup for some breakfast before heading back to Long Island because we were all pretty tired.
NOTE: The episode I watched being taped will actually air tomorrow at 1:00pm EST and I am most definitely going to be on TV because I was sitting in the second row behind the tasters, so look out for my sister and I.

To Vlog Or Not To Vlog...

The other night I went out to dinner with Lenni, "Leslie" and Lenni's husband. While we were out Lenni mentioned that she thinks that I should put up vlog posts. This raised a bunch of questions in my mind... What would I vlog about? Does anyone actually wanna hear my voice? Etc, etc, etc... What do you guys think? Is there anything you'd actually want to hear about? Lemme know.

Party Time...

Last night Justin and I went to a party at one of our friend's houses. It was a normal my-parents-are-out-of-town-lets-throw-a-party party, nothing super crazy but we had a blast. Phil and a bunch of our other friends were there and some shenanigans occurred, but that is what happens when alcohol is involved.

Books & Head...

Thoughts On Beauty Related Posts...

I've been thinking, I'm tired of having two blogs (Not that I update the other one that often) and I think that since this blog is supposed to be about the randomness that is my life that it would be okay to throw in sprinkles of the crap I post in the other blog (i.e. - Makeup, what I got in my monthly Birchbox, product reviews, etc). What do you guys think? I mean, I throw in the random recipe and craft demo occasionally so what would be so different about throwing in a beauty type post once in a blue moon.? Lemme know what you guys think please.

McMouse! McMouse!...

I don't normally talk about television shows but did anyone watch Tuesday nights episode of New Girl (2011-Present)? I was dying while I was watching it. I hope hope hope they show more of Nadia (CeCe's Russian model roommate) because she is hilarious.
Sorry, I just really wanted to post these gifs.

Whomp Whomp Whomp...

I'm so sad, I had plans for several blog posts today and they all got foiled. I was dead set on doing a few "Cooking Librarian" posts but none of the ingredients were available for anything I wanted to make today. I intended on making stuffed artichokes for dinner and baking chocolate orange cupcakes with my sister tonight, but for some reason the main ingredients of both of the recipes were MIA from the stores we each went to.

It was ridiculous, my sister and I each looked for artichokes in different stores and we couldn't find any to save our lives. So there went making stuffed artichokes.

On the cupcake front, I had my sister look for chocolate orange bars for the cupcakes and no dice. She couldn't find any flavored chocolate and I know that the store she went to has had them in the past. I was pissed.

I was honestly so excited about the idea of doing recipe posts for all of you today and I'm so sad they didn't happen. I'm gonna try again over the weekend and hopefully I can find my ingredients and I can teach you all how to make some yummy things.

Seven Questions...

What happens at New York Comic Con (2009) goes up on the interwebz.
Yes, I wear that wig a lot so you'll probably see it in a bunch more photos.

1. You are stuck somewhere you really don't want to be, do you - Walk home, call a friend, or stick it out?
If I could walk home I'd totally do that. If I couldn't walk I'd call a friend and bitch about being there until they picked me up.

2. Do you like to PLAY sports?
I'm fat. Do I look like I like to play sports?

3. Everyone has that one "different" song that they secretly love - What's yours?
I love the song "Rasputin (Club Mix)" by Boney M. I blame Just Dance 2 because it has an amazing dance to the song that my sister and Phil rock.

4. What is one thing you feel you are really good at?
I'm really good with arts and crafts, but I don't get to do it for pleasure as much as I would like. I end up doing a lot of random arts and crafts at work.

5. A dog is running in your direction and barking loudly - What do you do?

Get the hell away from it. I'm not messing with some crazy barking dog.

6. Star gazing or cloud watching?
Cloud watching. I have a crazy vivid chaotic way of thinking, so I see weird crap in clouds.

7. What time of the day do you feel the most productive?
9:00pm and later. I'm totally a night person and I get so much stuff done once it starts getting late.

Week In Instagram: April 16th-21st...

Record Store Day...

I'm so sad. Today is Record Store Day and instead of being able to wander around my favorite record shop I'm stuck at the library working.  It sucks because by the time I get off nothing cool is going to be happening. I always have to work when fun stuffing going on.

Anyways, for any of you interested here is some information on Record Store Day...

The original idea for Record Store Day was conceived by Chris Brown, and was founded in 2007 by Eric Levin, Michael Kurtz, Carrie Colliton, Amy Dorfman, Don Van Cleave and Brian Poehner as a celebration of the unique culture surrounding over 700 independently owned record stores in the USA, and hundreds of similar stores internationally.

This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day and hundreds of artists in the United States and in various countries across the globe make special appearances and performances. Festivities include performances, cook-outs, body painting, meet & greets with artists, parades, djs spinning records and on and on. Metallica officially kicked off Record Store Day at Rasputin Music in San Francisco on April 19, 2008 and Record Store Day is now celebrated the third Saturday every April.

I hope that someone gets to enjoy the events of today!

Any of you guy collect vinyls? If so, how many do you have in your collection? I'm interested in know what other people have.
