Day 29 — Hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 days
I would really like to accomplish the things on my "Twenty-Five Things To Do By March 3rd 2011" list, graduate from Grad School and I would love to get engaged, but God knows that won't happen within the next year.

I have my trip with Erin to Europe coming up in 49 days and I cannot wait. I have a lot of nice things to look forward to this year.

30 Day Challenge: Day Twenty-Six...

Day 26 — Your week, in great detail
Okay, so here is the week of June 21st 2010- June 28th 2010...

Monday June 21st
I worked 9:00am-5:00pm, then I went to Erin's appartment to hang out with her and Nicole. Nicole made us dinner and then we went to Target to buy randomness. After Target I drove them home and I went back to my house to go to sleep.

Tuesday June 22nd
We launched our summer reading club at the library. We had a face painter come in and I had her paint an octopus on my face -- I really wanted a zombie fish but my department head said no.

I left work early because my cousin Yvette came up from Virgina with her dog Samantha to visit. On my way to my house I picked up a couple of pizzas because that is typically what she wants to eat when she comes to visit and we just hung out for the rest of the night.

Wednesday June 23rd
I worked from 9:00am-1:00pm then I went home to hang out with Yvette and Krissy. We went to try and get our nails done but little did we realize that it was the day before prom, so we scheduled an appointment for Friday at 5:15pm. So we went to the beauty supply shop, where I ended up picking up a bunch of nail polish.

After that we went food shopping for random supplies and then we went to get 10¢ wings at one of the local ale houses with my parents. We followed that up by just hanging around my house.

Thursday June 24th
I didn't really do anything in the AM, but I had work from 1:00pm-9:00pm. Work was boring, but we ordered in food from my favorite seafood place and had a feast. After work I went home.

Friday June 25th
I worked 9:00am-5:00pm. While I was at work Justin e-mailed me and asked me if I wanted to have lunch with him, so he came to get me around 1:00pm and we walked over my favorite panini place to have samichs. We hung out for the hour and then he walked me back to work and I continued my work day.

After work I went to get a pedicure with Yvette and Krissy. Erin, Nicole and Eileen were all already there with their situation's buffed. I had a wonderful pedicure and eyebrow wax, Yvette did not. She was pissed! Once we were done at the nail salon we went back to my house.

Saturday June 26th
We (Justin, Krissy, Yvette, Erin & Mike #1) went to see the Mets play the Twins. Before the game we got to go to an open bar that came with the tickets we bought, plus a free appetizer.

Once the game started we got to see Prince Harry throw out the first pitch and then we sat to watching the Twins spank the Mets (6-0) in the hot hot sun. After the game we went home to veg out because the sun is draining.

Sunday June 27th
See yesterday's 30 Challange post.

Monday June 28th
I worked 9:00am-5:00pm. I got a lot of attitude from parents in the AM. Yvette came to the library around 1:00pm and we went to have pizza for lunch. After lunch we got some Italian ices and walked back to the library. I worked the rest of the day, then I went home.

30 Day Challenge: Day Twenty-Five...

Day 25 — Your day, in great detail
Okay, here it goes... I woke up at 8:10am, which I never do on a Sunday but I did it because on Friday my next door neighbor gave me his son's pimpin' Mets tickets (Section 115) and my father decided that we should get to Citi Field madd early because he wanted to watch batting practice and such.

Justin came over around 9:30am and we hung around the house for a bit before going to a deli to pick up some sandwiches to bring with us to the ballgame. After picking up our food we headed to Citi Field, arriving there a little after 11:00am and receiving our free Mets travel mugs. We went into the Mets museum, browsed around the Team Shop, went to various clubs seeing as we had the tickets to do so. Eventually we went to our seats and just hung out. The game started at 1:10pm and it was super hot out. We stayed the entire length of the game and watched the Mets beat the Twins (6-0) -- My dad even caught a t-shirt during the Pepsi T-Shirt Launch which he gave to Yvette.

After the game we went back to my house for dinner. It was random BBQed food that I didn't eat because I don't eat meat with the exception of the occasional piece of yummy yummy bacon.

Justin stuck around for a litte after dinner, then he went home. Once he left I went to take a much needed shower seeing as it was crazy hot outside. Then I watched Jurassic Park (1993) until it was time for True Blood (2008-Present). I actually stayed home and watched True Blood because I spent the day in the sun and did not have the energy to go to Erin's apartment.

Once the show was over I went upstairs to actually come write this post and I saw that I had a bunch of missed phone calls and text messages from Erin and Phil because I didn't actually tell anyone I wasn't going over there -- My bad. And now I'm hanging out in my air conditioned room watching TV.

Is that enough detail?

30 Day Challenge: Day Twenty-Four...

Day 24 — Whatever tickles your fancy
I went to yet another Mets game today with the usual suspects -- Justin, Erin, Krissy, Yvette (my favorite cousin) and Mike #1. It was actually pretty sweet because we spent $30.00 each and got one hour of free drinks (all of the taps and well drinks) & one free appetizer from McFadden's, field level seats and one free drink at McFadden's after the game.

We had a good time even though the Mets lost to the Twins (0-6) and it was super hot outside -- Alcohol makes everything better. What was also pretty cool about the day was the fact that Prince Harry threw out the first pitch of the game.

Day 23 — A YouTube video
It is really stupid, but this is one of my favorite YouTube videos.

30 Day Challenge: Day Twenty-Two...

Day 22 — A website
A website? What about a website? I visit tons of websites...

Hmm... Well, I just found this website: Oliva (à Paris) and I am intrigued by it even though it is in French and I have no clue what it is about. I know, I'm weird.

30 Day Challenge: Day Twenty-One...

Day 21 — A recipe
This is actually pretty funny because I just attempted to make Justin's grandmother's pignoli cookies. I say attempted because they totally didn't come out right, which blows because they are expensive cookies to make -- I must say that even though I failed at making them like Grandma's they still tasted good.

30 Day Challenge: Day Twenty...

Day 20 — A hobby of yours
I love all arts and crafts... I sew, crochet, paint, draw, etc... I am the arts and crafts guru at work. I rock all of the craft demos that I have to make and I very much so enjoy making my own demos of other people's crafts to show everyone in the department that I'm the bestest -- My coworkers are the most uncreative people you have ever met. But yeah, Me + Arts and Crafts = Awesomeness.

30 Day Challenge: Day Nineteen...

Day 19 — A talent of yours
Hmm... I don't know if this is a talent or not, but I'm a wealth of stupid knowledge. It is ridiculous how much useless knowledge is stored in my brain. At work I'm always spewing out random facts about things, thus my coworkers tell me I should be on game show like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (1998-Present).

I love facts. I guess it is a big reason why I'm a librarian.

30 Day Challenge: Day Eighteen...

Day 18 — Whatever tickles your fancy
I figured I'd use this as an opportunity to post the random pictures I took as I was leaving Governors Island and riding on the ferry.

Random church on Governors Island.

The sun over the water of the East River.

The water splashing against the side of the ferry.

The Statue of Liberty chillin' on an angle.

Pier 17 and the Brooklyn Bridge.

30 Day Challenge: Day Seventeen...

Day 17 — An art piece (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.)

I do not claim to know anything about art in respects to artists and pieces that aren’t super famous, but I do appreciate artistic expression. I personally love to draw -- All of the children in Drawing Club tell me I draw well, but the majority of them are in elementary school.

I guess my favorite piece of artwork has to be Vincent Van Gogh’s June 1889 oil on canvas painting Notte Stellata (Starry Night) which is housed in New York City at The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). Apparently, Van Gogh painted the piece after he committed himself in the hospital Saint-Paul-de-Mausole in Saint-Rémy. Pretty interesting.

I also love the drawing in Charles Lutwidge Dodgson’s 1865 novel “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” which he wrote under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. My hands down favorite is the one of Alice facing the Cheshire Cat. I prefer the black and white version, but this is the only decent copy I could find online -- If I was home I would have taken a picture of my copy of the book but I’m at Justin’s for the weekend.

30 Day Challenge: Day Sixteen...

Day 16 — A song that makes you cry (or nearly)
Every time I hear "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole (1951) I cry. It never fails, I always cry because the song reminds me of my Abuela and she was the most important person in my life -- Thinking about the song right now actually makes me want to cry so I need to go.

Unforgettable
Unforgettable, that's what you are
Unforgettable though near or far
Like a song of love that clings to me
How the thought of you does things to me
Never before has someone been more

Unforgettable in every way
And forever more, that's how you'll stay
That's why, darling, it's incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too

Unforgettable in every way
And forever more, that's how you'll stay
That's why, darling, it's incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too

Day 15 — A fanfic
Yeah... I don't read FanFics so I don't have anything to write about pertaining to this topic.

30 Day Challenge: Day Fourteen...

Day 14 — A non-fictional book
I love arts and crafts, so I love almost every book in the 745's -- For those of you that don't know the Dewey Decimal System that is the crafts section. Here are a couple of books that I enjoy very much so.
"The Big-Ass Book of Crafts" by Mark Montano (2008)
"Softies" by Therese Laskey (2007)
"Creeper Cute" by Christen Haden (2008)

30 Day Challenge: Day Thirteen...

Day 13 — A fictional book
My Department Head was weeding the picture books we own and she got rid of this one the other day: One of Those Days by Amy Rosenthal (2006). This book was super cute and had great illustrations (done by Rebecca Doughty) that describe different types of "those days." I think pictures of the pages that correspond with my moods would be perfect to use when I post an entry while in a bad mood -- Yes, I'm a dork.

30 Day Challenge: Day Twelve...

Day 12 — Whatever tickles your fancy
Today before I even got to work I was contemplating writing about the number one work hazard for librarians... Paper cuts. Then at work I was presented with the main cause for said work hazard... Stuffing reading club packets. Obviously, it was my destiny to discuss the matter with the world.

Paper cuts are no joke my friends. They are serious business. I currently have three and they hurt like mofos. In addition to being painful, they are expensive at the rate we get them. Band aids ain't cheap my friend. When you get three in the course of an hour and need to wrap 'em up time and money is wasted.

So, remember my friends, paper cuts are the devil.

Day 11 — A photo of you taken recently
Here is a recent picture of me in the stacks at work. I'm not gonna lie, I love taking pictures in the stacks when no one else is around.
