Exploring Long Island | Pictures From Sagamore Hill...

Since I took so many pictures when I went to Sagamore Hill earlier in the month I thought I'd make a separate post with all of the photos I didn't share in my last post.

First World Work Problem | Lost Tile...

So I feel like I'm dealing with the most First World problem ever at work. Last night while I was cleaning up before leaving I found this little thing that said "Tile" on it. I didn't know what it was, so being me I went and Googled what it was quickly.

Apparently, (For those of you like me that don't know what it is because Justin knew what it was) it's a "tiny Bluetooth tracker and easy-to-use app that finds everyday items in seconds—like your phone, keys, and wallet."

Here's the video that is up on the website about it...

Again being me, I go back to Google and search "Found lost Tile" to see what I should do with this thing. I found instructions that said I should download the Tile app, turn my Bluetooth on and let the Tile pick up my signal and the person who owns it (If they are looking for it) should see its location based off of my phone. It also said to double click the "E" in Tile and it will ring the person's phone.

I did all of these things but I had to leave for the night about thirty minutes after finding it, so no luck right after finding. And I've done the above a handful of times since.

So basically I found someone's lost tracking device to find their lost things and now I'm trying to find them. How stupid of a problem is this?

Girls Afternoon | Paint Nite...

After months of trying to coordinate with my friends, we were finally able to attend a Paint Nite yesterday -- Which is something Toni and I have literally been trying to do forever with each other.
Original Artist: Christian Elder

For those of you that don't know, Paint Nites are events where people spend two hours creating a "one-of-a-kind" painting at a popular local bar/restaurant. There are typically calendars available on the various companies websites (Paint Nite, Muse Paintbar, etc) that show the paintings available for different days of the week and/or locations.

Anyways, like I said we've been trying to coordinate for months because we're all busy or the days we were available we didn't like the painting that were being offered. So we finally found a date, time and painting that we all liked so we went and got our paint on.

The painting we chose was titled "Moonlit Mermaid" and it was considered a moderate level painting (Paintings range from easy on up).
So yeah... Basically myself, Toni, Erin and Maria sat for two hours painting (With an awesome and funny instructor telling us what to do) and drinking while Justin and Day bopped in every-so-often to give us drink refills and/or say snarky things about our paintings (The two of them were drinking at the bar outside of the room Paint Nite was in and Justin was pretty drunk by the time we finished painting).
It was honestly so much fun and I cannot wait to do another one. If you've been thinking about doing one but you haven't yet, I highly recommend it.

If you have taken part in a Paint Nite or something similar, how was your experience? I would love to know! I'd also love to see the picture you painted!

LatinTRENDS Dominican Influencer Event...

Last night I had the pleasure of attending LatinTRENDS magazine's Dominican Influencer Event Which was a celebration of influential Latinos who are giving back to the community and breaking barriers) at The Attic Rooftop & Lounge in New York City with Day and Chas as my dates.
While I was at the event I had the pleasure of being introduced to Elizabeth Chalas Berman the President and CEO of Continental Food and Beverage Inca Kola USA, who was just the nicest and most inspiring person. It was just so uplifting to meet a Latina who was in charge of such a big company and to see how she loves to give back and inspire others.

I also got to meet actress, director and cultural activist Alicia Kaplan who I was chatting with before the event actually started.

In addition to those whom I had the honor of meeting, there were tons of other influencers at the event including:

● DJ Lobo
● Francisco Diaz President of American Association of Latinos in STEM (AALSTEM)
● Cenia Paredes Fashion designer and creator of Cenia Fit with a collection available at HSN
● Juan J. Camilo Founder and owner of Dyckman Beers Co.
● Wilton Cedeno Director of Energy Policy & Regulatory Affairs for Con Edison
● Angela Fernandez, Esq Executive Director of Northern Manhattan Coalition for Immigrant Rights & Chair of the Board of Directors of the
                                                             Dominican Parade

It was a great evening with amazing people and I am so glad that I was able to attend.

Exploring Long Island | Sagamore Hill...

Those of you that have been with me for a while know that Justin and I really enjoy visiting historical site, national and state parks, etc. during our days off in the summer. But unfortunately this summer has been quiet slow in terms of our little day excursions because Justin was in an air cast for about six weeks and there's just been a lot going on that has kept us from going on our little adventures.

Determined to go on a new excursion I booked us a tour of Theodore Roosevelt's home at Sagamore Hill (Which I've actually been trying to do for a few years now but it was closed from renovation for a couple of years) back in June for Friday, August 5th.

So as you can guess, I went this past Friday I went to Sagamore Hill. Unfortunately Justin couldn't join me but I got to go with my father who loves history, etc. and is a great date because he won't let me pay for stuff. Hey, it's the truth...
But yeah, I had the nicest afternoon with my father exploring the area around (Specifically Young's Memorial Cemetery where President Roosevelt and his wife are buried) and the grounds of Sagamore Hill (Sadly they don't let you take pictures inside of the house because 95% of the things inside are original to the house and the lighting is terrible) and learning about the 26th President of the United States.
If you enjoy history and beautiful parks I highly recommend visiting. It's such a nice outing and I really would like to go back with Justin at some point in the near future.

He is talking to us, Erin is pretending not to speak English, I am looking around for his partner who will try to rob us. When he is done with the bracelt he says it will cost small change. I being me say "Fuck that!" rip the braclet off my wrist and Erin's, throw them at him and some guy (Whom I assumed was his partner) comes up and starts telling me that I am behaving like an animal and I am too beautiful to be behaving like an animal. I start yelling that I know the one guy was just trying to get us to open our wallets to see how much money we had, so that down the way the other dude could pickpocket us. They walked away quickly after that.
