Snow Boots On Opening Day At Citi Field...

As you may or may not know today was Opening Day of baseball season, and as we do every year Justin and I went to Citi Field to see the Mets kick off the season. But unlike previous years, it was snowing when we woke up -- Which I'm not gonna lie, pissed me off beyond belief.

Seeing that I was freaking out Justin told me that he checked the weather, baseball schedule, etc. and that the weather was going to get better and the game was still on, so we bundled up and headed into Queens. Where it didn't look like they had gotten any snow what-so-ever.
I'm still glad we bundled up (Minus my snow boots) because we ended up sitting in the shade and it was super windy.

We stayed and froze our asses off
until the Mets gave up three runs in the 10th inner and then we decided to head home because we knew they were done. Off to a great season, I can tell...

The 29 Project: Day Nineteen...

Life As Of The Past Seven Days...

So, this is my seventh day working this week and it's been eventful but not all at the same time.

"Favorite Page #1" had her final day working at the library this past week, which caused some drama because "Julia" is a ridiculous fifty-four-year-old woman who cries when people don't ask her to order lunch.

I had to attend and speak at the local middle school's career day, which you all know I love so much...
And finally, today I had a lunch date planned with Day and on her way to the library she found an abandoned dog. So I drove her and the dog (Whom we affectionately named Mrs. Scruffy) to a local animal shelter so they could help the poor dog out.

So yeah, those are some of the little highlights from my insanely tiring week.

ModCloth + Wanelo Uniquely You...

I was recently contacted by ModCloth to style an outfit for their Uniquely You campaign which is a contest they have for bloggers and can I tell you, I had so much fun doing it.

For those of you unfamiliar, the task at hand is to create a complete outfit using this week's featured piece, as well as other pieces currently offered from ModCloth and feature them in a Wanelo collection.

This week's campaign is centered around the Dinner Party Darling Dress in Black (Sizes 4-24) which just screamed classy and elegant to me, so I was inspired to create the retro glam look you see below...

I'm totally in love with what I've come up with and could totally see going out in a fancy date (Or eating a croissant in front of a particular fancy jewelry store) in this outfit! What do you guys think?

Day Drinking: Saint Patrick's Day Style...

Recently Day was looking for something to do due to an increase in her free time and I suggested that since she is an excellent bartender that she do some guests posts for me on making various drinks. She agreed and thought it would be a fun thing for us to do (Plus it gives us an excuse to hang out and drink during the week), thus "Day Drinking" was born.

Since Saint Patrick's Day is tomorrow we thought that we'd kick off "Day Drinking" with a few themed drinks...
• Jaume Serra Cristalino • Midori • Orange •

The St. Paddy's Day Mimosa is a great way to start off the day in a boozy way. Pour 1oz of Midori into a champagne flute, top with a dry champagne or sparkling wine (We like Jaume Serra Cristalino because it's cheap nicely price and tastes good), garnish with a slice of orange and enjoy.

Midori • Orange Juice • Sprite • Lime •

The Green Lantern is a great tasting drink with a cool name. In a shaker with ice mix 1.5oz of Midori, 1.5oz of Orange Juice and 1.5oz of Sprite. Shake. Pour into a whiskey glass with ice, garnish and drink away.

 • Dekuyper Sour Apple Pucker • Vodka • Lemon Juice • Simple Syrup • Sprite

A Leprechaun Kiss is a great martini to have with the girls. In a shaker with ice mix 1oz Sour Apple Pucker, .5oz Vodka, 1oz Lemon Juice and .5oz Simple Syrup* (We used lemon simple syrup because Misfit always has some on hand for her cold brewed iced tea). Shake away. Pour into a martini glass, add a splash of Sprite or your favorite lemon-lime soda and sip away.

* To make simple syrup bring mix equal parts sugar and water in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil, make sure all of the sugar is dissolved in the water, cool and enjoy in various beverages.

• Creme de Menthe • Baileys Irish CreamJameson Irish Whiskey

To create this ode to the Irish flag in a shot glass you have to carefully layer Jameson on top of Baileys on top of Creme de Menthe (I recommend pouring the liquor very slowly or over the back of a spoon). Say your favorite Irish toast and knock it back.

Our favorite Irish toasts from Irish Toasts by Karen Bailey...

Here's a health to your enemies' enemies!

May you live to be a hundred years,
With one extra year to repent.

Enjoy and make sure to do so responsibly!

NOTE: This is not a sponsored post. This is just the booze Day and I like to drink minus that vodka, we got that because it was cheap and we needed it for that one drink. But as always, if someone wants to sponsor me that would be awesome.
