What I Bought | Sephora Beauty Insider Sale Edition

As you may or may not know, Sephora has Beauty Insider Sales biannually and this year's Spring Bonus is ending for VIB tonight at midnight. And because I am a makeup junkie who enjoys knowing what other people are purchasing and loving, I thought that I'd share with all of you what I ended up buying from the sale as of thus far. But first here is the breakdown of the discounts from the website...

Here are the goodies that I purchased for myself...

I have the roller ball version of the Maison Louis Marie No.09 Vallée de Farney Perfume Oil, so technically it's a repeat purchase for me but I haven't tried the eyeliner from Melt Cosmetics yet. I saw it on TikTok a while back and it looked nice to tight line, so I thought I'd give it a try. The only thing that annoys me about the product is that it doesn't come in black.

I also picked up the La Mer Radiance Essentials from the Rewards Bazaar for 500 points.

Have you picked up anything from the sale? Are you thinking about picking anything up? What tier Beauty Insider are you? Or do you not care about beauty products at all? Lemme know!

Fall Bucket List

It's basic bitch season, so you know I had to put together a list of things to do to be as basic as possible this fall and of course share it with all of you.

So here's my fall 2021 bucket list...
  • Go leaf peeping
  • Make fall cocktails
  • Invest in the perfect cozy sweater
  • Have a fall picnic
  • Make DIY Halloween costumes
  • Visit a fall fair
  • Go apple picking
  • Have a scary movie marathon
  • Make a DIY fall wreath
  • Plan a fall-themed date
  • Go thrifting for fall clothes
  • Have a fall photoshoot
  • Make a new soup
  • Bake a pie from scratch
  • Have a bonfire
  • Decorate pumpkins
  • Buy some new boots
  • Deck out your front door and porch for the season
  • Visit a haunted house

Honestly, I've done a couple of the things on the list already and I have plans to do some of the others. So I think I'll make it through a good chunk of this list. What about you? Do you have a fall bucket list? Are you planning partaking in some basic fall activities? If you are or if you have something you think I should add to my list, lemme know!

What I Bought | Sephora Beauty Insider Sale Edition

As you may or may not know, Sephora has Beauty Insider Sales biannually and this year's Spring Bonus is ending for VIB tonight at midnight and Friday, May 1st for Rouge (Sorry Insiders, your sale ended already). And because I am a makeup junkie who enjoys knowing what other people are purchasing and loving, I thought that I'd share with all of you what I ended up buying from the sale as of thus far. But first here is the breakdown of the discounts from the website...

I am a Rouge (Thank you to coworkers who have me order them stuff), which means that I spend $1,000+ a year and thus I get 20% off during the sale. I also have Sephora FLASH Subscription, aka 2-day shipping (Which I paid $15.00 a year for before hitting Rouge last fall).

Now that I've confirmed that I am a ridiculous makeup addict, here are the goodies that I purchased for myself...

Everything I purchased were products I've never tried before. So I'm excited to play around with some new products later on this week.

Have you picked up anything from the sale? Are you thinking about picking anything up? What tier Beauty Insider are you? Or do you not care about beauty products at all? Lemme know!

What I Bought | Sephora Beauty Insider Holiday Bonus Edition

As you may or may not know, Sephora's Beauty Insider Holiday Bonus sale is going on until midnight tonight. And because I am a makeup junkie who enjoys knowing what other people are purchasing and loving, I thought that I'd share with all of you what I ended up buying from the sale as of thus far. But first here is the breakdown of the discounts from the website...
As of this sale I am a Rouge member, which means that I spend $1,000+ a year and thus I get 20% off during the sale. I also pay $15.00 a year for the Sephora FLASH Subscription, aka 2-day shipping. All which means that I have almost everyone I know asking me to order them stuff this weekend because no one else (Minus Day and Liz) spends as much money as I do at Sephora yearly.

Now that I've re-confirmed that I'm ridiculous, here are the goodies that I purchased for myself over the weekend...
There was no makeup in this particular haul because my skin has been crazy for the past couple of weeks and I wanted to focus on skin care, plus I recently purchased the Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Foundation ($47.00) and the Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Concealer ($31.00). So I had no need for new makeup.

Have you picked up anything from the sale? Are you thinking about picking anything up? What tier Beauty Insider are you? Or do you not care about beauty products at all? Lemme know!

Wishlist | Sephora Beauty Insider Summer Bonus Edition

As you may or may not know, Sephora has Beauty Insider Sales biannually and this year's Summer Bonus for Rouge and VIB members starts this week. So I thought that I'd share my current wishlist and what I was contemplating getting from the sale. But first here is the breakdown of the discounts from the website...

In terms of wishlists, this isn't a particularly extravagant one. Like yeah, I kinda sorta want a Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer ($399.00) but I didn't find the need to put it on this list. These are all things that I want right now but I don't necessarily need.

So yeah, those are things I want but in reality I'll probably just end up getting these...

In addition to the goodies above, I'm currently debating what foundation I want to get because I ran out of my Benefit Cosmetics Hello Happy Soft Blur ($30.00) and am currently too dark for my Giorgio Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation ($64.00).

Are you thinking about picking anything up? What foundation do you like? What tier Beauty Insider are you? Or do you not care about beauty products at all? Lemme know!

* The reason I purchased an orange collar is because of The Kitty Convict Project, which is a campaign by the creators of The Oatmeal and Exploding Kittens (Matthew Inman, Elan Lee and Shane Small) to help lost indoor cats be returned to their owners. The color orange signifies that the cat is an indoor "convict" who is not supposed to be outdoors and should be returned home.

Below is a one of the graphics that the project put out to promote it's mission...

I don't know about you but I think that it's a pretty neat initiative to help lost kitties get back home.

Warm & Cozy Living Room Inspiration...

Despite the fact that it is sixty degrees in New York on this fine February day, we are still in the middle of winter. And even though it's warm out today I know that in a day or two it'll be chilly again and all I'll want to do it be warm and cozy in my living room.

So in anticipation for another cold day and with a inspiration from Arhaus Furniture, I've put together a little inspiration board of items to make ones living room nice and cozy for the remainder of the season (Because I know not all of you are enjoying the effects of global warming today and are indeed still in need of some warmth and coziness).

I don't know about you guys, but nothing has screamed warm and cozy this season like the big chunky knit arm blankets that have been all over the place. Since the minute I saw them I've been obsessed with the idea of buying one, specifically in my case one from Ohhio because I love the story behind the brand and that it was a successful Kickstarter campaign.

In addition to chunky knit items, I think wooden pieces are just the epitome of warm and cozy. Especially this tuffet/ottoman which combines the chunky knit aspect that I've been loving and wood details.

Other pieces I'm in love with are Arhaus' Martin Antique Brass Trunk Coffee Table, which is reminiscent of an antique steamer trunk and is just classic in my mind. As well as, Arhaus'  Hidalgo Round Black Floor Basket which I think would be prefect to throw a blanket or two in. And to top everything off, just simple throw pillows. Since chilly weather just makes me want to melt into my couch I thought this "Let's Stay Home" message was perfect.

So, what kind of pieces do you think make for a cozy living room? I would love to know!

Being K's Bridesmaid | Bridesmaid Dress Shopping...

Over the weekend my sister, Lisa and I went on our first outing to look for bridesmaids dresses. We started off the not-so-long shopping excursion at Here Comes The Bridesmaid here on Long Island.
Aside from being lazy and not wanting to travel into New York City, we made an appointment at Here Comes The Bridesmaid because they told my sister that they had a selection of plus size dresses. And as you can probably guess, they had all of two actual plus size dresses so Lisa was the one who was really trying on the dresses.
After having Lisa try on a handful of dresses at Here Comes The Bridesmaid (She didn't wanna be photographed, so I have no pictures of her in the dresses we were kinda interested in) we decided to go to the mall to check out the selection of Adrianna Papell dresses at Macy's. They ended up not having a single dress we wanted to look at from our hours of Pinning but we found a couple of new dresses to throw Lisa in, all which were just okay.

All in all we aren't 100% on any one particular dress but we going to look into a couple of Mori Lee Geometric Patterned Sequins dresses (Not in the color below, but in taupe) because they go with her art deco theme.

So yeah, nothing is definite but I'm sure we'll pick something out soon and then I'll have to do it all over again for Phil in a few weeks.

Doodlegraph | Tomfoolery In Party City...

Cinco de Mayo merely a week away, so to get in the spirit (And because we're have a big Fat Kid on Siete de Mayo) a couple of us hit up Party City the other day to pick up decorations and other randomness to celebrate. And because I can't go anywhere without taking pictures, I thought I would use the pictures to make another Doodlegraph for you guys.
So yeah, as you can see Day, Amanda and I acted like fools in Party City and bought a whole bunch of random crap for our up coming Fat Kid.

Stay tuned for the Fat Kid post, we have tons of stuff planned for that day so it should make for a good post.

Target x BaubleBar | Launch Fail...

Yesterday Target launched a line of tech accessories with online jewelry retailer BaubleBar and because some of the pieces looked nice I figured I'd wander into my local Target to check out the collection.
(via: BaubleBar)

Since the collection was from BaubleBar I headed over to the accessories department to see if there was a display. No display anywhere in the accessories department. Okay, if it isn't in the accessories department I figured it must be in the electronics department because it was a collection of tech accessories. Nope. No display.

So I head over to the counter in electronics and ask the guy there about the collection. He looks at me like I have five heads. As I was talking him another employee walks over and he begins to ask her about it. She, like him, looks at me like I have five heads when I start to speak with her about the collection and she proceeds to ask me what a bauble was.

Trying to hide how exacerbated I was I opened Refinery 29's article about the collection, as well as several other to show the two employees that I am not some crazy person babbling about baubles.

They looked at the articles, saw that I was talking about a real thing and began calling other employees over. After dealing with a total of five Target employees they realize that they do indeed have pieces from the collection in the back room and that's when I made them pull every thing from the stock room so Liz and I could look at everything.

It took them thirty minutes (In which I bitched on Twitter about the whole situation) but they pulled almost everything and we got to look through it all, pick out our items and buy them.
Later on in the day after all the tweeting, an Instagram post with a caption complaining about how poorly the launch was handled and some Snapchats, I found out that it wasn't just my Target that had problems with the launch. I spoke to four other people in different states that said the same exact thing that happened to me happened to them at their various Targets.

As annoying as the whole thing was I do enjoy what I did end up purchasing, which was the BaubleBar Clover Make Noise Earbuds ($19.99) and the BaubleBar Amanda Struggle Cover Up Phone Case ($29.99) -- Liz ended up getting the BaubleBar Gold Gem Make Noise Headphones ($39.99).
Did anyone else try to hit up there local Target for this collection? If you did let me know how everything went for you? If you didn't and you're interesting in the collection, here it is so you can order it offline instead of dealing with the store and having a cluster fuck of a time like I did.

Sephora VIB 20% Sale Haul...

Since I shared my wishlist for the Sephora VIB 20% Sale with you in the beginning of the month, I figured I should show you what I actually ended up purchasing...
  1. BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector® Opal Glow On The Go -- $20.00
  2. Urban Decay Naked Smoky -- $54.00*
  3. Too Cool For School Egg Mousse Pack -- $20.00
  4. Urban Decay Naked2 Basics -- $29.00*
  5. Clarisonic Mia 2 Lavender Hydration Skin Cleansing System -- $149.00
  6. Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (Light/Medium) -- $42.00
  7. Elizabeth and James Nirvana White Hand Cream -- $15.00
If you remember my original wishlist (I don't actually expect you to remember it) you'll notice that I got four out of the nine items on it, as well as three additional items. Two out of those three are not for me (My sister asked me to buy them for her for Christmas) but I figured I'd mention them here only because I actually own and am on my second Urban Decay Naked2 Basics palette and the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette looks nice. The Clarisonic on the other hand was a spontaneous purchase I made for myself while in the store with my mother and I'm glad I did it because I've been thinking about getting one for a long time.

Overall I'm super happy with all my purchases and love racking up Sephora points.

If any of you picked up anything during the sale I'd love to know what you got!

Sephora Wishlist | VIB 20% Sale...

As you may or may not know, I am a beauty junkie. So it should be no surprise to anyone that I am a Sephora VIB, which is a status you get once you've spent over $350 at Sephora within a calendar year (Yes, I've spent and/or suckered people into using my Sephora card when shopping to reach VIB status). So, tomorrow is the start of Sephora's annual holiday VIB 20% off sale (Which is running from November 13th through November 16th, 2015 and the code is VIB20, but it will only work if you are indeed a VIB) and as Sephora VIB I have tons of things in my shopping basket and another ton of things that I wish I could get but can't because I am not rich.

Because a girl can dream, I put together a little wishlist of thing that I would buy throughout the course of the sale. And here that is for any of you that care...
  1. Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (Light/Medium) -- $42.00
  2. Commodity Magnolia -- $99.00
  3. Sunday Riley Power Couple Duo: Total Transformation Kit -- $78.00
  4. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick (Damned) -- $20.00
  5. Tocca Beauty Meet The Girls Fragrance Collection -- $62.00
  6. Elizabeth and James Nirvana White Hand Cream -- $15.00
  7. BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector® Opal Glow On The Go -- $20.00
  8. Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask -- $26.00
  9. Too Cool For School Egg Mousse Pack -- $20.00
I am definitely purchasing the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (Light/Medium) because I have it in a darker shade and I absolutely love it but my tan has faded and the darker shade is looking a bit too dark on me right now, so I NEED it in the lighter shade.

I'm also getting the Too Cool For School Egg Mousse Pack mask because I've used their sheet masks before and I wanna try this out. And I'm going to pick up the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector® Opal Glow On The Go because I've had a sample of it before and think it's just beautiful. If the Sunday Riley Power Couple Duo: Total Transformation Kit available (The site claims that there are only a few left) I'll pick that up and try it because I've heard nothing but wonderful things about the Sunday Riley range of products.

Are any of you VIBs? If so, what are you purchasing during the 20% off sale? I'd love to know.

Getting My Craft On | DIY Shark Tank Top...

When you live in a beach community people obviously like to do things on the beach and one thing that our community likes to do is show movies on the beach every Saturday night in the summer.

So when they released the schedule of movies a couple of months back Phil decided that we should all go watch Jaw (1975) the night they show it and that night is next week.

Since I've been on a kick making/buying things for our various outings as of late, I decided to search Pinterest to see if there were any feasible shark things that I could make happen. And while I was searching I came across a shirt from Forever 21 (Which I apparently I had pinned a while back) of a line drawn shark that said "Feed Me" above it and I immediate needed it in my life to wear next week. Unfortunately it was no longer available (Damn it Forever 21!) but I decided that I wanted it bad enough that I'd make it for myself.
So I got my self a shirt, a marker and some scrap paper to doodle on and went to town.
Even though this was super easy because it was just drawing, here are the supplies I used and how I did it...

SUPPLIES
  • Paper
  • Felt Tip Pen
  • Plain White Shirt → I used an Old Navy Women's Plus Raw-Edge Tanks -- $6.00*
  • Fabric Markers or Sharpie → I used a Sharpie Magnum® Permanent Marker -- $3.99
  • Cardboard

STEP ONE: Doodle out the design on your piece of paper over and over again until you think  you have it down. Even though this shark is super easy, I actually ended up drawing this shark all over the place for like two days just because I love him so much.

STEP TWO: Place the shirt on a flat surface you can draw on with the cardboard in the middle of the shirt, so the ink wont bleed from one side to the other.

STEP THREE: Hold the fabric taut and draw your design on the shirt.

STEP FOUR: Admire your new bad ass shirt.

This is how mine came out...
I am totally in love with it and all of it's imperfections. I cannot wait to rock it next weekend with my new thrift store flannel and jean shorts on the beach with the other shark goodies my friends and I bring to the beach to watch Jaws (1975).

* I got the shirt on sale for $6.00 ever though it's listed on the site for $19.00

Photo-An-Hour (And A Few Halfs): Saturday, October 25th...

A little late on Saturday I decided I should do an photo-an-hour. Here is how my day went...

12:00PM - Driving to go run errands.

1:00PM - Thrifting.

BONUS PICTURE + A SONG - JaRule plaque!

Always On Time (ft Ashant) by Jarule on Grooveshark

2:00PM - Justin & I headed over to Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza for lunch.

3:00PM - Since there is a Barnes & Nobel in the same shopping center as the restaurant, we went in.

4:00PM - We went shopping at Micheal's for craft supplies for a DIY I have coming up.

4:30PM - Fancy grocery shopping.

5:00PM - Quick trip to Home Depot because I needed painters tape for that DIY I mentioned.

5:30PM - More thrifting.

6:00PM - Drove home.

After that things got really boring, so I didn't take anymore pictures.
