So, on Monday I really wasn't feeling well and I ended up calling in sick to work (I woke up at 5:00am and it felt like someone was kicking my in the stomach with boots on). When I called in at 8:30am to speak to my Director (Before the library actually opens and so he could give people in my department a heads up as they came into the building) and tell him that I wouldn't be coming in he decided to be snarky with me and ask me why I was calling in. He got a snarky answer back from me, he said whatever and I proceeded being sick all day in my apartment.
Fast forward to yesterday. It's after 9:00am and "Julia" calls up our department and tells "Marie" that she won't be coming into work because she isn't feeling well. "Marie" puts her on hold because when you call in sick in our building you have to speak to either your Department Head, the Director, Assistant Director or our payroll lady -- Which "Julia" knows, but she thinks she is being slick or whatever by calling the actual department even though we all make her talk to one of the above. Our Director, Assistant Director and Department Head all aren't in the building, so "Marie" had to get our payroll lady. She apparently didn't pick up fast enough because "Julia" hung up and never spoke to her or anyone else in charge.
Fast forward to today. She comes into work late with her hair dyed a new color. So basically this waste called in sick to get her hair colored leaving the department short the day before ("Amy" also called out) without speaking to anyone, while I got snarkiness about being actually sick Monday.
I cannot tell you how annoyed I was and still am. I actually went to find my Director and went off about the whole thing. He just looked at me and said I could get mad/loud with him all I wanted if it made me feel better but there was nothing he could say or do about it no matter how annoying the situation may by.
Ugh!
