But You Can't Kill The Boogie Man...

I hope everyone had a great Halloween! Here is a mash-up video of Michael Meyer's clips from the Halloween movies to end the day with...

"I met him, fifteen years ago. I was told there was nothing left. No reason, no conscience, no understanding; even the most rudimentary sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong. I met this six-year-old child, with this blank, pale, emotionless face and, the blackest eyes... the *devil's* eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach him, and then another seven trying to keep him locked up because I realized what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply evil" -- Halloween (1978)

Trick Or Treat...

Since I love Halloween so much I made sure that I had the day off from work because it honestly would have killed me to be stuck at work all day on one of my favorite holidays.

I spent almost two and a half hours working on my zombie makeup. There was some trial and error using liquid latex for the first time but I eventually figured out what would work best for me with the makeup that I had on hand -- Next year I'm definitely gonna try to for a bigger and better zombie look.

Once I was done putting my make up on I headed over to my friend's house to go with her, her daughter and Erin trick or treating. I helped them get ready, we made some boozy hot chocolate and then we headed out. We went out for about an hour and a half -- My friend's daughter had a mini melt down at one point and was done.

When we were done with them Erin and I headed to my house so my parents could see my make up and then we headed by her house to grab her dog, dress it up as a cat and take her for a walk as an excuse to go visit Nicole at work.

After visiting Nicole we dropped the dog off at the house and went out for dinner. Before we left Erin took her costume off, so I was dressed like a zombie at the diner we went to. I actually got a lot of complements from people at the diner about my costume. I had a lot of questions about how I did my makeup and what I used.

Erin dropped me off after dinner and I ended up hanging out with my mom watching various television shows waiting to see if anymore trick or treaters would show up at the house. No one did. I stayed in my zombie makeup until my sister got home from her boyfriend's house so I could jump out at her and scare her. I did and I got her, I actually bit her face -- She was not happy with me for that one.

Yup, that was my Halloween and I enjoyed it. I hope everyone else enjoyed their day!

Return Of The Elevator...

After being elevatorless for a week now the piece finally arrived so that it could be fixed and our old piece of crap elevator is now back up and running. I never thought that being elevatorless would be so difficult and annoying, but thankfully it's back, at least for the time being.

Talking Trash...

"Julia" just keeps getting her ass handed to her this week. "Amy" just told me that she caught "Julia" talking shit about her last night to whomever (I don't know if she said it in front of "Marie" or "Lori"). Apparently "Amy" was within earshot of "Julia" and she heard everything she was saying. She told me that she looked at her, waved her arms in the air and kept saying "You know I can hear right?! I hear you!" She pulled "Julia" aside and told her that if she had anything to say about her she better say it to her face.

First "Marie" then "Amy" this is great. I'm glad this bitch keeps getting in trouble with other staff members. Maybe she'll finally realize that we all hate her and she'll slowly fade away into her corner or maybe even quit -- Which would be awesome.

AM Reaming...

Apparently I missed my Department Head reaming "Julia" out this morning for giving out information on a child's participation in a program -- "Marie" said that I would have been in my glory watching her get scolded.

It all started like this, yesterday the school district kept calling about various children participating in our summer reading club and wanted all sorts of information. Since our Department Head wasn't in "Amy" wasn't comfortable dealing with the situation and got our Payroll Lady (She is actually our Director's Administrative Assistant) involved. She called our Department Head who called the superintendent's office and spent thirty minutes on the phone telling them that they could not have that information. Hours later someone else calls about getting the information, this time "Julia" answers and tells them everything that they wanted to know. When our Department Head found out this morning (Which she only found out because they reading club binders were not in the proper spot) she went off on her.

I'm so sad I missed it. This woman hardly ever gets in trouble for the shit that she pulls and she deserves to. I hope she keeps getting caught doing the stupid shit that she does.

Bloody Mystery...

"Leslie" just came upstairs to inform my Department Head (Whom is currently in charge of the building because our Director is on vacation) that a man vomited up blood on a book in the mystery section, put it back on the shelves, headed upstairs to the public restroom and vomited into the sinks in front of one of our male staff members and then he had the nerve to rinse his mouth out in our water fountain leaving a glob of blood in it.

This is beyond disgusting. I'm so glad that they knew who this guy was and that they are having him banned from the library until our Director comes back. Does this guy not get that what he did was a bio-hazard? That he could have been endangering the public? He could have tuberculosis or AIDS. I'm just so glad that it didn't happen in my department and that I didn't have to actually deal with it.

365 Days Of Pictures: Day 240...

Here is the horrible craft demo that I was forced to make. It pains my soul. I swear something as ugly as this will never come from desk again.

Too Many Programs In One Day...

Honestly, at this very moment in time my Department Head isn't my favorite person in the world. Because of her ill planning I'm stuck doing a craft (That no one found the need to create a demo of) and video game night practically back to back. On top of this I have a lack of a dinner break which isn't cool. In addition to these things I'm currently all by myself in the department because "Julia" is the only person working with me today and she is taking a two hour break in order to go to physical therapy and lunch. I'm really very annoyed.

365 Days Of Pictures: Day 239...

Refusing To Help...

Looks like "Julia" finally got a doctor to write a note claiming that she has a back and neck injury. Our Department Head just told us that she officially has a note and that we should be nice and help her when she asks for someone to pick things up for her, etc. After she told us this I basically told my Department Head that there is no way in hell that I will help her with anything because I have a knee injury dating back fourteen years that is actually well documented and that flares up all the time. I don't understand how it is okay for me to climb up on every surface in the library to hang decorations or whatever and this woman can't push a practically empty book cart. I refuse to be gracious. I refuse to be nice. I flat out am not helping this woman. I don't give a damn who asks me to do it, I will not.

365 Days Of Pictures: Day 238...

Here is the new laptop that "Leslie" gave me. It's a Dell Inspiron duo and it is actually really neat. I don't understand why she hated it, but I'm thankful that she gave it to me because being laptopless at work would have killed me. I really do do a lot of work from my desk and I don't know what I would have done if she didn't give me this beauty.

Fake Fights...

It seems that whenever "Marie" says something to "Julia" about anything (i.e. - Turning the fan off, being noisy and reading the windows she leaves open on the computer, etc.) "Julia" ended up lying to various people in the department (Mainly "Emily") about the interaction that they had. The current on being a "fight" about keeping the fan off. "Julia" claimed that she and "Marie" got into an argument about keeping that fan on, which wasn't true because I witnessed the whole thing. So obviously I told "Marie" that "Julia" had said this and she ended up confronting her about it today. "Marie" walked up to "Julia" and started inquiring about the fight that "Julia" claims that they had. "Julia" denied ever saying anything, but while she was doing so all of the blood drained from her face. In an attempt to avoid what was being said "Julia" kept repeating that she felt like something odd was going on yesterday when she walked in and that she didn't feel like she was being kept in the loop about anything blah blah blah blah... "Marie" had to say the same thing over and over again to her. Eventually she just told her that she would appreciate the she stop talking shit about her to "Emily" because they are friends. "Julia" replied with something stupid along the lines that she didn't want people talking shit about her either.

I'm so glad that "Marie" confronted "Julia" because she needed to be put in her place. She keeps making things up trying to get attention from people. Thankfully people are starting to ignore her and see her for who she truly is, a backstabbing psycho.

Death Of A Laptop...

The laptop that I've been use at work died today, so I was trying to figure out what I was going to do because I do a lot of my work from my desk. I complained for a long time to my Department Head, to the point where she actually brought it up to our Director who basically laughed it off. Annoyed about my lack of a laptop I was bitching to "Leslie" about it when I saw her and she ended up offering to give me her laptop from home because she hates it and is currently looking into getting an iPad. Super excited I accepted the offer and I get it tomorrow. I look forward to setting it up and not having to actually having to share it with the others in the office. I'll take pictures of my new toy tomorrow.

In West Philadelphia Born & Raised...

Today my family, my sister's boyfriend and I went to Philadelphia to hang out, eat and go to Eastern State Penitentiary's Terror Behind the Walls -- The haunted attraction that I went to last November with my friends.

We got into Philly around 3:00pm and we headed straight to Reading Terminal Market because my parents wanted to try the pork sandwich from DiNic's that was featured on an episode of Man v. Food. The line for the sandwich was crazy but they waited on it. While they were doing that I was wandering around trying to figure out what I wanted to eat -- I ended up eating fish tacos, which I finished eating before they got to the table with their sandwiches. Eventually they go their sandwiches and they struggled to finish them because they were huge and according to the delicious.

When we were done eating we continued walking around the market and then we ventured outside to do a little walking around Philly. We stopped at all of the normal walking spots around the area, took pictures, etc.

After walking around for a bit we headed back to our car so that we could head over to Eastern State Penitentiary because we wanted to see if we could get in to the Terror Behind the Walls earlier than the time on our tickets. And we did, we were actually the first people to walk through for the night and it was awesome. It was really nice being able to walk through without people being too close to us.

Once we were finished walking through we headed towards Pat's King of Steaks and Geno's Steaks because my parents wanted to try each and see which was better. They ate both and they decided that they liked Pat's King of Steaks the best.

When they were done we stopped into RIM Café (Where Duff Goldman from Food Network's Sugar High went for the hot chocolate and desserts) for coffee, hot chocolate and dessert. René (the guys who made Duff his Volcano and Magnum -- Both hot chocolate drinks) made me mine and let me video tape him as he did. He also yelled at me for making the same mistake Duff did, trying to take the Magnum before he put all of this homemade chocolates on top. It was delicious, it wasn't super sweet or anything. When we were done with our coffee and such we headed home. It was a good trip. We all had a lot of fun and I can't wait to go back.

Broken Elevator...

The elevator at the library broke and the elevator company doesn't have the part needed to fix it. This should be fun...

Dazed & Confused...

I just realized that I forgot to post about "Julia's" extra odd behavior on Tuesday night. Around 7:30pm (an hour and a half after she punched out) she wanders into the department, walks into the office and sits at her desk mumbling loudly that she guesses that she doesn't have to take a cab home because her keys had gone missing and she found them. Then she just got up and walked out without saying anymore. It was really weird. She looked like a hot mess and she seem super zonked out. It really confused myself, "Emily" and "Favorite Page #2".

News Reports On The Bayside Acacia Cemetery...

These were the news reports that made us want to go visit the cemetery we went to today.

365 Days Of Pictures: Day 233...

Trip To The Cemetery...

A few months ago ABC News had done a story on the Bayside Acacia Cemetery in Queens because it wasn't being properly taken care of, it was over grown with vegetation and mausoleums had been broken into, bodies were hanging out of coffins, etc. Obviously seeing as I love me a good cemetery I was itching to go. While I was at work a day or so after hearing about this place "Favorite Page #2" and I ended up talking about it and he said he would love to go.

Fast forward to Tuesday... While I was talking to "Favorite Page #1" about what she wanted to do while she was home for the next couple of days going to this cemetery came up and she agreed to going. So today instead of going to the zoo like she suggested she, "Favorite Page #2" and I drove to Queens with our cameras in tow to explore the cemetery. We got there with no problems what-so-ever, parked the car and tried to figure out how to get inside. Unfortunately because of all of the buzz surrounding it after being featured on the news it is only opened by appointment for family members of the deceased, which blows. But this didn't stop the three of us from wandering around the outside gates taking photos through it.

I can't begin to describe how tragically beautiful this place was. I really wish that I could have had a chance to walk through the property and take some photos because I'm sure they would have been amazing.

Eventually we left, but before leaving Queens we found another cemetery (Montefiore) that we could actually get into. And we spent a good long time in it wandering around the headstones, taking pictures. I even lost the two of them for a bit, apparently they didn't hear me calling for them.

We could have spent a lot more time wandering around than we did because it was a big place, but "Favorite Page #2" had to be at work by 6:00pm so we left earlier than we would have liked. The three of us decided that going back to a place like that would have to be a day trip so we could properly look around.

It was a great day and I look forward to our next cemetery adventure.

To Zoo, Or Not To Zoo...

"Favorite Page #1" just called me and asked me if I wanted to go to the Bronx Zoo for our Yay-You're-Home-For-The-Weekend-From-College date on Thursday and I'm trying to figure out what the likelihood is that I will get lost in the Bronx when we are trying to leave (I got lost for an hour last time I got stuck in the Bronx). I'll have to figure out if I want to go on an adventure or not.

365 Days Of Pictures: Day 231...

The other day I was telling "Leslie" that I needed to buy myself a new point and shoot camera because I can't always bring my DSLR everywhere that I go because they are banned at certain venues. So yesterday she came into the library with her camera and gave it to me because she doesn't really use it and she said that she knows that I'll take beautiful pictures with it. Now I am the proud owner of a Canon PowerShot A520 and I now have a camera to bring with me to concerts and such. I love "Leslie" so much!
